There is a problem with getting things screen printed. That is economies of scale. You need to get hundreds or thousands of items screen printed with the same thing to make it cost effective. Vinyl is the next best thing if you can't get screen printed. Also, remember, the famed Athletic Supply company did all of their customs with vinyl in stead of screen printing as it was the most cost effective way to customize jerseys that didn't use the tackle twill specification. What I may do to the vinyl is use a very mild abrasive to kind of make them less shiny and more like as if they were screen printed.
