I'm a little worried though. His blog is very candid, and he makes no effort to hide his love of the sauce. Don't get me wrong, by reading his blogs I think he and I are pretty similar dudes- work hard play hard- but I really hope his mouth doesn't get him in trouble. He talks about high stakes gambling in casinos with Ryan Boschetti, heavy alcohol consumption, and even throws a little profanity in there.
Again, I personally have NO issue whatsoever with what he's doing, and he's breaking no laws, but he's a pro-bowler now, and has a $30M contract. He's under a microscope, and I just don't want to see him catch any heat from the media, which is bound to happen if he keeps it up. The Official Blog of Chris Cooley: Poker Night |
There's nothing wrong with what he's doing, but he is stupid for writing about it. Don't get me wrong, I love reading it, but it is absolutely foolish for him to be publicly publishing that. All it takes is for him to report to camp 5 pounds over weight, have a few unproductive games, pull a hammy, and he will be crucified for what he wrote.
There's no reason for him to be writing it other than to say, "hey everybody, look how cool I am." Does make you wonder where his priorities lie.
