Redskins Cap Notes
27-Mar
Note: The information provided here comes from various sources and is unofficial.
Here's a breakdown of the different cap sheets available:
1. CapSummary - shows all the player cap hits for the duration of their contracts. A player's cap hit consists of his salary+capbonuses+otherbonuses. The "Total" column is the total amount of the player's remaining cap hits.
The team summary can be found at the bottom.
2. ReleaseFees - lists each player's cap hit, followed by his "release fee" in that given year. The release fee represents the amount of dead money that would be incurred by releasing/trading the player prior to the year in question (before June 1st).
3. Contracts - shows contract details.
4. Salaries - shows all the player salaries for the duration of their contracts. The "Total" column is the total amount of the player's remaining salary.
5. CapBonuses - this lists all the signing bonus allocations that count towards the cap. The "SB" column is the total amount of signing bonus received by the player. Any bonus that gets prorated appears here.
6. OtherBonuses - this lists all the other bonuses due to the players including roster bonuses, workout bonuses, etc. The "OB" column is the total amount of other bonuses remaining for the player. Any bonus that does not get prorated appears here.
7. DeadCap - shows the Redskins' dead cap situation for 2008 and beyond. The dead cap is the money that still counts towards the salary cap even though the player is no longer with the team.
8. Unsigned - lists the current Redskins free agents.
