EternalEnigma21 01-06-2006, 03:59 PM I guess if we had Jacobs in practice and DMac in the games we would have an all around decent reciever.? saden1 01-06-2006, 04:05 PM To get rid of LaVar would take a serious offer from another team. I doubt any team would be willing to part with a player of LaVar's caliber, especially one we need (what do we need besides DE?). The question then comes down to what kind of draft pick compensations can we expect in a LaVar trade? My prediction, 80% chance of LaVar staying! MTK 01-06-2006, 04:11 PM Problem is I don't think anyone would want to trade for him with that current contract, he'd have to be willing to ink a new deal with the new team. That does present a problem. He gets in the neighborhood of 10 mil in 2006? That ain't gonna' happen. celts32 01-06-2006, 04:31 PM Prime candidates are: Matt Bowen - save $2 million Walt Harris - save $2 million Cory Raymer - save $1 million Brandon Noble - save $1.5 million (did we cut him already?) John Hall - save $1.2 million Daniels definitely stays. I'd look for an extension for Dockery. He's a keeper. I would not cut Hall. Compitent place kicking is to hard to find out there. Look at the cowgirls troubles in that area this season. I know we get frustrated by Hall's injuries, but when he's healthy he is a pretty solid kicker that doesn't often miss many makeable kicks. celts32 01-06-2006, 04:33 PM Speaking of someone I HAVE given up on. Taylor Jacobs. Every week someone says he'll have a breakout game. Time is up Taylor. Pass the beer nuts... 12thMan 01-06-2006, 04:35 PM I would not cut Hall. Exactly, when he's healthy. celts32 01-06-2006, 04:43 PM Well they can't just cut him without having a good replacement available. No one likes kickers but everyone sure does hate them when they cost you games... Sheriff Gonna Getcha 01-06-2006, 05:10 PM I simply refuse to believe that this coaching staff can't find a place for LaVar. The guy isn't whining about being a Redskin and asking for a way out. In fact, he has said repeatedly that he wants to remain a Redskin. I can't see an attitude problem from LaVar; far from it, he's got a great attitude. Marvin Lewis managed to make LaVar into a stud so why can't Williams? I like both Williams and LaVar and will ultimately support whatever decision the team makes, but I'm troubled by his absence from the field on 3rd downs and expected release. |
