The "problem" with LaVar is this:

He will be the highest paid player on the team next year and may consume the largest fraction of the team's salary cap. [I defer to Crazy Canuck on both of those points.]

At the same time, he doesn't play nearly half the downs on defense.

You might be able to put together a successful team some of the time under those circumstances, but it doesn't seem to be a formula guaranteed to bring success. Ergo...

I just don't think he is in Washinton's plans. I think washington is capable of having a top 10 defense without Lavar. They did it last year, and they are kind of doign it this year.

Lavar is a great player. He has been ratteld by injury and confidence. Lets be a team that doesnt run away from our talent potential. One more year with lavar i think he is still a great player. No one can turn the corners and chase after backs like he can.

I'd go to war with Lavar any day. With his abilities, the team just needs to find a position where he can make plays and let him go at it.

Now, that said, his cost against the cap is going to be tremendous next year. The front office needs to find a way to renegotiate his contract such that he is paid as well as any other team would pay him and still fit within the cap structure.
