These analyists all have one thing in common. They are followers, not leaders. They look at the year before and make the safest predictions that they can. Then they say as many controversial things as they can to draw attention to themselves as possible (ala T.O). They ignore things that they cannot explain by looking at a game summary and highlight real. These guys are not professionals at what they do, some are not even that good at what they did.

Irvin is just a total homer, he always picks dallas or whoever has a bunch of guys from the U. Jaws is the best, clayton is soo annoying but he's very good regardless. Aikman is pretty good and Joey T is a decent analyst, but a terrible announcer.

Gotta remeber though that Salisbury's 12 career starts make him an undeniable "expert". This guy is an idiot just like you said. Doesn't have an original thought in his head and has no actual analytical abilities or doesn't have the motivation to do the analysis for real. At least guys like Jaws show they actually sit down and look at tape and can explain what is going and why. I only respect a couple analysts. The community here is generally better on analysis than just about every talking head out there.
Here is my rant, and after 24 years or so I think I deserve it. John Riggins is a God, Joe Gibbs isn't too bad (lol)
Sean Salisbury is an ignoramus! Talking head, NO. He repeats what the talking heads say. Nerd boy Clayton has kicked his ass numerous times and he gets off the hook by being the strong armed bully in the studio. Somebody please FIRE Salisbury. I'd rather listen to what Dexter Manley read in the newspaper today. I really hate watching primetime and SC at this point anymore - in season that is. TB flip flops from one interview to the next----the Paxil spokesman said he was so nervous and anxious he would puke before every game and then recently said he was never scared nor nervous in any football game----then why do you take Paxil?
Howie is a modern day Rocky Balboa, just been hit too many times....
Jimmy Johnson, uhhh enough said----nice hair----maybe Trump could refer you somewhere
To be short, if I can I watch sports on mute. Who, if you are out there, decides on these empty-headed, lacking an original thought, mental giants, showboats, discarded players salary contracts?
What was the last thing the Skins saw leaving dallas?

Reading this thread I couldn't help but copy a post I authored several months ago when, guess what happened, yup- Sean Salisbury said something to make an ass of himself...
"Sean Salisbury is an ex-QB that has a one line history. His one year in the playoffs he faced us and we stole his cahones put 'em in a jar and haven't given them back yet. That's why he hates on us so much. Check this write up from back in 1993...
They won because Rypien got hot, Mitchell provided a spark at running back and their defense completely shut down the Vikings, rattling quarterback Sean Salisbury and allowing nine total yards and one pass completion in the second half. The Redskins had the ball for almost 43 of the last 55 minutes -- an NFL playoff record -- as their offensive and defensive lines dominated. After getting those 79 yards on that opening drive, the Vikings got 69 more the rest of the day.
"A great day," Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs said. "They just rolled our way. Freddy hit em pretty hard there and next thing you know there sitting on the sidelines right in front of us. The only thing we could think to do was put them in a jar for safe keeping."
...courtesy of the Washington Post with a little editing from yours truly."
I couldn't help reviving that one. It is to make me laugh:laughing2

Jaws is a guy who does his homework and is the best at it now. He really shows no "homerism" that I can detect, even though he still has close ties with the Philadelphia area. The most annoying is Chris Collingsworth, who just babbles to hear himself babble. I was so glad he was off pregame shows this past season, but it looks like we will have to endure him on NBC's Sunday night broadcasts.

Jaws is excellent. He is an Eagle through and through, but he does manage to remain objective for the most part.
Irvin actually gave the Skins props at times last year- it surprized the hell out of me. I kind of put him in the Madden catagory - when you get past the sillyness, he says good sound football stuff.
