#56fanatic 03-09-2006, 08:23 AM go for bruce and peterson
Isaac Bruce? Why would you want the guy. he is 34 years old. Small, lost a few steps, not just a step. you basing that on name and name only. I wouldn't even give him the vet minimum, especially with the young talent out in the FA market
PWNED 03-09-2006, 08:37 AM I disagree. They pulled in several big names Gibbs' first year and that paid off.
They were muted last year and made some moves so they could be more aggressive this year.
DE, LB, WR, K, CB, OL... These are all areas of need and they could all be filled in the first 36 hours. The teams in the East are already getting better and since they can't draft anyone decent after the third round, free agency is the only way to keep up.
i can see de and lb being filled with this, and possibly cb. im just wondering about kicker because all of htem are going to command a huge price.
bertoskins 03-09-2006, 08:40 AM Dear Mr. Dan
Dont allow bruce to be taken by any team except our belovbed skins
sign him the first day
bertoskins 03-09-2006, 08:43 AM bruce is a gibbs guy, even though old is still a burner and can help moss bet out of double team
PWNED 03-09-2006, 08:47 AM i was just looking at us getting rw mcquarters who could also fill the need of a decent PR/KR.
firstdown 03-09-2006, 09:11 AM I am. If Brunell goes down, so does the rest of the team in flames.I don't think we can say that until we get a chance to see how Campbell has progressed over the past year. Who knows after we get a chance to see him play in some preseason games we might be calling for him to be our starter this year. I don't think that will happen but it would be nice if he was performing good enough to bring up that conversation.

because we need someone who can play wr NOW. We can draft a wr but they won't develop for a few years.
Bruce is 34, has a few years left & can still play. Wherever he goes he'll get more than the vet minimum, unless you know something about his past injuries that's keeping him from healing.

I guess so. It's just rare to have someone sit a year and still come in and win. I mean Carson Palmer didn't even do it, but I'll admit I was being a bit melodramatic.
I've never been thrilled with his pick in the first round especially with the guys that were left. I think he would've been around later. Oh well. Hopefully, I will one day think that was a genius move to trade up for him.

I cant believe everyone is so willing to pay a 34 year old receiver who is past his prime. It just doesn't make sense. If you are going to pay a 34 past their prime WR, why not take a shot at TO. Probably going to be around the same price and he is by far a better receiver than bruce. plus he is a couple of years younger. (I in no way want TO on the Redskins) I was being sarcastic before someone goes on a tangent about TO and Redskins.

CB? I agree we need depth, but you're not saying we should bench Springs or Rogers?
OL? We also need depth there, but you're not saying to bench one of the starters?
We definately need help at DE and WR. I don't think anyone would argue with you and I've never done so. Those are positions of need. Of course we might need help at LB because we just dumped Arrington. But getting 3 new starters wouldn't be going crazy (I've always said that was reasonable and probably to be expected). So, are you just being argumentative for its own sake, or do you actually disagree with what I said?
What I have disagreed with is people who want to upgrade starters everywhere (i.e. TE, LG, WR, SS, DT, DE, OLB). We could improve over the starters at all of those positions, but not all at once and certainly not all at once through free agency.
