Hold the wagons guys. Carter came and went last night (the 12th) without signing. I think the writer was just "pre-supposing" that Carter would sign the deal. Wait until he is smiling for the cameras at Redskin Park.

Beemnseven 03-13-2006, 05:31 PM Yeah I am kinda confused, how are we doing all this? It just means that in the next couple of years, guys whose contracts are up will not be able to be retained. You know, the Fred Smoots, Antonio Pierces ... Snyder can certainly bring 'em in. It's keeping them that's the problem. Still, I think the signings we've seen are smart for the most part, and the front office is making the upgrades that this team desperately needed. My only problem with the moves we've made so far are losing the 3rd and 4th rounders for Brandon Lloyd. Twilbert07 03-13-2006, 05:31 PM If true, yes, this is spinning a little out of control. Where are all the dollars coming from? Are we going to release some more players? tallestskinsfanever 03-13-2006, 05:33 PM Redskins | Team to sign A. Carter Mon, 13 Mar 2006 14:05:39 -0800 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Washington Redskins are in the process of signing free agent DE/LB Andre Carter (49ers) to a six-year, approximately $30 million contract. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl I'm still a bit skeptical though since it was reported that he already spurned us. shallyshal 03-13-2006, 05:34 PM http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9300482 The Redskins are at it again, and this makes the second defensive signing. Defensive end/outside linebacker Andre Carter is schedule to fly to Washington and sign his brand new six-year, approximately $30 million contract. (Strange that the article is date March 12 though, must be an oversight) the heavy lifting is done for the offseason all we need now is depth.. o line. corner... we need 1 vet for the o line and if mitchell signs we are there.. we need 1 corner and we could either use dyson, mccleon or mcquarters... or we could use the 2 pick inthe up coming draft. we are inthe catbird seat, amigos shallyshal 03-13-2006, 05:35 PM If true, yes, this is spinning a little out of control.
