That Guy 03-18-2006, 01:56 AM Packers | Signs point to Favre returning
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 17:41:12 -0800
Rick Braun, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://www.kffl.com/link/188), believes Green Bay Packers (http://www.kffl.com/team/17/nfl) QB Brett Favre (http://www.kffl.com/player/764/nfl) will return for the 2006 season and is just looking for a reason to return to the team. He feels that if Favre really was going to retire, he would have done so by now. Favre has gone about this offseason with his normal routine of golfing, hunting, and mowing his lawn.
That Guy 03-18-2006, 02:09 AM Ravens | Team may wait until after NFL Draft to pursue a QB
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 20:13:46 -0800
Jamison Hensley (http://www.kffl.com/link/170), of the Baltimore Sun (http://www.kffl.com/link/169), reports the Baltimore Ravens (http://www.kffl.com/team/8/nfl) have to decide when to pursue another veteran quarterback. They can wait another month to see what happens to Tennessee Titans (http://www.kffl.com/team/36/nfl) QB Steve McNair (http://www.kffl.com/player/1876/nfl) or begin to pursue free agent QBs Kerry Collins (http://www.kffl.com/player/1295/nfl) (Raiders) and Brian Griese (http://www.kffl.com/player/602/nfl) (Buccaneers) right now. According to a league source, the Ravens (http://www.kffl.com/team/8/nfl) have discussed the possibility of not adding a veteran quarterback until after the NFL draft (http://www.kffl.com/link/160), which is the earliest the Titans (http://www.kffl.com/team/36/nfl) would consider cutting McNair. There is not a clear consensus within the Ravens (http://www.kffl.com/team/8/nfl) on either Collins or Griese, the source said. Also, there's no guarantee that the Titans (http://www.kffl.com/team/36/nfl) will cut McNair.
mcnair isn't getting cut, i'd pursue collins ASAP as he's the only clear starter left and he'd be pretty cheap.
That Guy 03-18-2006, 02:19 AM Vikings | Childress says Culpepper all about the money
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 21:41:42 -0800
Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel (http://www.kffl.com/link/167), reports in Friday's edition, March 17, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, first-year Minnesota Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) head coach Brad Childress (http://www.kffl.com/player/8309/nfl) said what QB Daunte Culpepper (http://www.kffl.com/player/1120/nfl) was seeking was more money and lots of it. "Somewhere there is a buy-in factor. I just didn't think that was the case," Childress said. "Right from the beginning. As I mentioned, I never had a conversation with him about this football team. It was always about what he needed financially and money. I never heard team, I always heard me and I and, 'I need $10 million. I'm a $10 million-dollar-a-year quarterback.'"
finally, some better smack.
That Guy 03-18-2006, 02:28 AM Packers | Favre's bonus date extended
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 22:19:33 -0800
Tom Silverstein (http://www.kffl.com/link/187), of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://www.kffl.com/link/188), reports Green Bay Packers (http://www.kffl.com/team/17/nfl) QB Brett Favre (http://www.kffl.com/player/764/nfl) has had his bonus date extended to a specific date, according to an NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) source with contract information. The source did not know what date the new deadline is, but it is likely that will be the date the Packers (http://www.kffl.com/team/17/nfl) will expect a decision from Favre on his future with the team. If Favre retires, the team will gain nearly $8 million in salary cap space.
$8mill could buy you a couple starters...

That Guy 03-18-2006, 01:00 PM Dolphins | Frerotte unhappy with way things ended with team
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 08:28:26 -0800
Harvey Fialkov, of the Miami Sun-Sentinel (http://www.kffl.com/link/167), reports St. Louis Rams (http://www.kffl.com/team/34/nfl) QB Gus Frerotte (http://www.kffl.com/player/392/nfl) is unhappy with the way the Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) handled his release from the team. Frerotte said, "Personally, I don't think things were handled the right way. After playing 16 games, winning nine after they only won [four] the year before, and then to just kind of be put on the back burner, that was kind of tough." Frerotte was released shortly after the Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) acquired QB Daunte Culpepper (http://www.kffl.com/player/1120/nfl) from the Minnesota Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl).
That Guy 03-18-2006, 03:08 PM Lions | Harrington sabotaged team's "quarterback school"
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 10:41:45 -0800
Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports Detroit Lions (http://www.kffl.com/team/16/nfl) QB Joey Harrington (http://www.kffl.com/player/660/nfl) played a big role in getting the team to agree to release or trade him. Several people close to the situation claim Harrington sabotaged his appearance during the team's "quarterback school" with offensive coordinator Mike Martz (http://www.kffl.com/player/1983/nfl). During classroom sessions, Harrington put forth little effort when asked to go to the board to break down plays. He was very lethargic and uncooperative during the sessions and Martz quickly realized Harrington had no desire to be there.

Damn. Way to sell yourself on the open market Joey. It's not like you're TO and have at least proven something on the field
That Guy 03-18-2006, 05:20 PM that's what i thought... then again his whole team hates him anyways (then again, maybe this kind of sh*t is the reason why).
what was he thinking? If i bomb here, someone else will hand me a starting job? He was on even footing with the lions and would have had a shot to win it back, but now he's going to have to go be a backup (for sure) for at least a couple years.
That Guy 03-19-2006, 10:33 AM Lions | Team checking into trade possibilities for Harrington
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 06:10:10 -0800
Mike O'Hara, of the Detroit News, reports the Detroit Lions (http://www.kffl.com/team/16/nfl) are checking to see if any team may be interested in trading for disgruntled QB Joey Harrington (http://www.kffl.com/player/660/nfl). O'Hara estimates the Lions (http://www.kffl.com/team/16/nfl) could receive a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick in exchange for Harrington.
WAAAAA??? apparently they haven't been paying very close attention to reality. unlike ramsey, harrington's team HATES him and (also unlike ramsey) he's going to be owed a 4+mill bonus if he isn't dropped soon.
