And let us not forget the following:

Ric Flair (27 billion time World Champion)
Dusty Rhoades
Andre the Giant (and all the little midgets he used to wrestle)
The Von Erich boyz
The Road Warriors (Animal and the other guy)
George "The Animal" Steel (rip)

Haha, love these memories of Sat nights on TBS.

Was The Animal that guy who always chewed on the turnbuckles?

Duane Gill...or Gillberg! Hilarious

Nah, Mean Gene wasn't a wrestler...you can thank Jesse "The Body" for his nickname (http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profiles/m/mean-gene.html)

wasn't at the WCW event in '98, but went to Starrcade in '97, when Goldberg whipped Steve McMichael's ass, and Sting beat Hollywood Hogan for the World Title. You think Nascar is full of rednecks...take in some wrestling live.

in college...we used to run dueling TVs in our common room, so that we could watch Monday Nitro and Monday Night Raw...AMD should remember that.

Sounds a lot like us in college. We got a chance to make it to Backlash and Summerslam when Austin came back. I also saw the first TLC match.

George "The Animal" Steele was the guy that chewed on the buckles and always had a green tongue....frickin hilarious.

Was anyone else at the WCW Smackdown at MCI back in 1998 (I think that's what year it was)?

Two of the funniest "sports" moments I've ever seen in person happened there: Goldberg, who was a huge up-and-comer at that point, speared some Mexican dude in a skeleton custome and seriously injured his knee, but they didn't stop the match; and Sting joined the NWO by 'ripping' off his t-shirt to reveal a NWO shirt underneath. It was funny because he couldn't get the shirt ripped in half like Triple H in that Man Law commerical, until he remembered that the pre-cut part was at the bottom.

I used to be so into wrestling in the late 90's that it was sort of sick.

HA, I WAS THERE !!!! I was ROASTED THAT NIGHT !!!

I've been watching since I was a kid. 29 years into life and I can't let it go. I know it's fake but it's fun to watch. My sister is taking me to Wrestlemania next year for my Wedding present too. I definitely get my nerd up when it comes to wrestling. Just like I do when it comes to the Redskins... well not that much but I turn into a nerd none the less. When they come to DC we go and have a ball.

It's funny how George "The Animal" Steele was a college professor ! As a child I just knew he was a psycho !
