Thats what I was thinking. I know for a fact that Zidane is Muslim, so it wouldn't surprise me if something like that was said.

That would make sense. Do you have a link to confirm?

WOW...soccer had an interesting moment for once!

It was the only one though...even with the little kicking contest to decide the championship.

I'm glad the NFL doesn't decide the Super Bowl on a field goal kicking contest, or we'll be in trouble with John Hall.

Oh well, France loses something else...the world is still normal.

i found the pic this morning, and it's now my wallpaper (check out flickr.com and do a search on zidane headbutt). here is the Lego interpretation:

Materazzi must have said something dirty to Zizou...however, it's a dirty move to provoke such a reaction, so I don't feel bad for him. And, I don't think it cost the French as much as them subbing out Henry for Trezeguet.

:oink: What kind of line would provoke a boneheaded reaction like that?

Did he say "I just saw your momma in the locker room and she asked me to tell you to headbutt me in the chest!"

No words should make someone do THAT. He's just another childish Frenchman who's sick of France losing in EVERYRTHING.

I like how alot of people I know when asked say they are intrested in the Worold Cup but when you ask them if they have watched any matches they say "NO".Went fishing with a friends son yesterday and he was saying how big of a soccer fan he was and I asked him why he wasn't home watching the biggest soccer event of the next couple of years. He did not realy have an answer.

Well the fact that he fought back proves he isn't totally French. Had he been 100% French he would have called Bruce Arena out to give him a hand and save his ass then turned around and bad mouthed Arena to all the other players.

I think what he meant is the fact that rather than people say "F...Soccer" we actually don't go to the shitter when the scores come on ESPN.

Remember kids, there's different LEVELS of interest. ;)
