If anyone is going to go to the camp Bring Water. From the time of 2pm-6pm I drank 13 bottles of water with a lingering thirst aftewards. Bring your coolers, ice, h2o, umbrellas, sunscreen- the heat is no joke. Just when you think the worst is over, I arrived at 3pm to the parking lot was probably among the first 500 people ( I think the total population was 2,500) I parked in the opposite direction that faced the entrance to the lot which is also the only way out. (Horribly direction for a parking lot. There are staff members coordinating us to park in line but afterwardsyour out of fuckin luck, totally chaos and disorder. From the time I started my car up to advance out of my spot and head to the main road it took 1 hour.) I felt I was nearly going to pass out and throwup during this time. My face was bright red, not from being sunburned but from being beaten down from the heat. Totally soaking drenched in sweat, w/o any water at my disposal. In the parking lot it is chaos. I saw dozens of cars leaving dozens of cars behind me going behind everyone else and forcing their way to the front. Getting cut of and ambushed by cars that were behind me for 1/2 hour all of a sudden raise their hand up to wave in acceptance to their ploy to advance just screwing me over. I love my Redskins but the harsh result I have found is that I hate to share them with the public. I think that is why so many people got sucked into the Ravens everything from the Training Camp- season long exposure is so tremoundously less crowed and hectic that I can't go to any more Redskin events like that. Nothing but assholes in that parking lot.

i didn't have your problems leaving... the tricks are: don't EVER go the first day, and skip fan appreciation day. Also - morning and evening practices. I won't go to a 4pm session cause it ALWAYS ends up being that bad.

I generally walk fast and get to my car quick after practice though (autographs are meaningless to me, so i don't bother with any of that).

Next time, get off at Exit 9B (Route 28 towards Sterling), then 625 West (Waxpool Road), then right on Loudon County Parkway, and right on Redskins Park Drive. And it's not Snyder...at that point, the Dulles Tollroad becomes the Dulles Greenway.

Here's the map, with driving directions (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=Washington+DC&daddr=Redskins+Park+Drive,+Ashburn+VA&ie=UTF8&om=1)

Thanks. That is the way i went today and i did disregard the sign that said. Redskins camp exit 7. 9B is much cheaper and it has a 50 cent toll instead of a 3.20 toll.

how do you get back on afterwards without the huge toll?

i didn't because of the freaking line going the other way. We were going to turn left at that light and we saw that a car that was there hadn't moved for like 5 minutes so we decided to go straight and split the 3.20 over waiting. The trafic was really rediculous the past two days. IT was quicker yesterday though.

Wow many times did you have to stop along the highway on the way home? :)

next time you leave, you can turn right off redskins park drive onto loundon county parkway. that'll take you up to Route 7, where you'll turn right. then hop back on 28, and that'll take you back to the Dulles Toll Road, without the 3.20.

Someone may be able to help me with this because I don't know the name of the road. Check this out; When you leave Redskin Park parking lot turn right. This is not the best road in the world but approx. four miles will take you straight to route seven, Leesburg Pike. Turn right on route seven and that will take you back to 495. Escape all toll roads and turns.

that looks like a long way around to the same spot (you can turn left and get on 28 much sooner) that ends up with a toll booth on the on-ramp.

at least from looking at this map:
Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=Washington+DC&daddr=Redskins+Park+Drive,+Ashburn+VA&ie=UTF8&om=1)

my advice was based on his post about the same car (http://www.thewarpath.net/199538-post45.html) waiting at the front of the line for a few minutes.

it's a bit longer, but once you get on 28, it should be a breeze now since they built those overpasses. it's the long way, but if you're not sitting, who cares? plus you can always continue down Route 7 and cross over at various other points to get on the Toll Road, or even take it all the way down to the Beltway.
