I like Ladell, he's a great backup. That being said, I really don't think he's a No. 1 back b/c of his injury history. The Skins radio show said early contract extension talks have been started with him. If Danny can swing it, we need to extend his contract now because at the end of the season he'll Antonio Pierce us.

You just said that he is not a #1 because of injuries. What makes him so valuable that you would extend a guy with a significant injury history? I like Betts but I also think that in today's NFL, players like Betts are everywhere. I would wait until the end of the season.

in my opinion, dockery is much more valuable to the redskins. the longer an offensive line sticks together, the better they perform

I agree completely. Runningbacks grow on trees.

Dockery and Betts are in the same boat as far as I'm concerned. I would wait on Dockery. If he stays healthy and plays well for the first half of the season, lock him up. If he doesn't, you've saved yourself a costly investment.

Betts has to set his own market value. If he wants to be paid like a starter, well, I'll wish him the best. Good crop of RBs in the draft next year. If he loves the area so much that he accepts the backup roll and ST captain for 2-3 more years, I'm the first guy who wants him back.

My guess? Dockery is a Redskin in 2007. Betts is not.

Cooley. He's got 2 years left on his rookie deal. Lock him up. He deserves it.

I don't want to see him anywhere near free agency. Espicially since it wont break the bank to keep him.

Lock him up with one year left...

Lock him up with one year left...That would work, but it wouldn't stop me from worrying up until that point.
