A quick poll about Cheesesteaks

This is some interesting stuff. It reminds me of why I majored in sociology.

I just shared this thread with my buddy who now lives in Boston. He's from this area and not a member of this site, but I thought I'd pass along what he said, kinda funny:

Mayonnaise?? No. Simply, I don't order cheesesteaks outside of Philly for that reason. Mayonnaise? What's next, lettuce? Pickles? Jesus!

Yup, and BBQ is VERY regional. I make my own BBQ sauce for cookouts a lot and there are like 4-5 flavors I end up making. There's Memphis, Kansas City, Eastern and Western Carolina and sometimes I make Arkansas. All have very distinct flavors and it's hard to pick just one even thougn most of the time I'm partial to the Carolina ones which have a more mustardy, vinegary flavor.

You should have shared that info, SBF might be waiting in the bushes to beat the receipies out of you.

Know what's so awesome? When you're going to a cookout with smoked ribs slathered in so much sauce that it runs down your wrist, and pulled pork with hot BBQ sauce, and beef brisket, and juicy burgers with all the fixins, and brats with onions, and baked beans and corn on the cob covered in butter, and potato salad. And you eat so much that you need a hose to clean off. Plus ice cold beers of all flavors, where you dunk your hand to the bottom of the ice water in the cooler and fishout the coldest one.
