I like Jimmy too......but didn't he get a shot last season after having a quite impressive pre season. What did he do for us when we called upon him in the season when we had no recievers? I'm still trying to figure it out so someone let me know.

Exactly. After Patten and Thrash went down last year, it was Taylor Jacobs and Jimmy Farris who replaced them.

According to player stats at NFL.com, Jimmy Farris caught 1 pass for 18 yards, while Jacobs, who had much more playing time, caught 11 passes for 100 yards.

To me, Jimmy Farris, who has been in the league longer than Jacobs, doesn't deserve to be in a Redskin uniform any more than Taylor Jacobs did. He is training camp fodder and will never be anything more.

I want to keep Richard Smith before Farris. Smith had a decent NFL Europe season, 22 catches for 252 yards and 3 TDs in 10 games.

But here's his value proposition (like that Matty? Remind you of your MBA days?) he knows Saunders' system having played for the Chiefs in 2004. He could be like the Todd Collins of the WR group.

Espy looks promising and would say practice squad for him for sure.

My prediction is that Espy will be on the practice squad, will be invited back to training camp for the next couple of years, ala Derrius Thompson and Justin Skaggs, and within 5 years, he'll be selling insurance.

If Espy were worth half of the comments that I've read about him on this website, he'd be starting somewhere without question.

is this even a question? farris looked great last preseason against fourth stringers, got to play a lot down the stretch and did NOTHING. Thrash is actually useable and is probably still our #1 gunner.

espy might have earned himself a year on the practice squad, but that's about it.

and whoever thinks patten is getting axed, that's straight up crazy. he's actually produced viable numbers and has some trade value. I wouldn't bet on him getting moved though, he has good character and looker-room value and that seems to really matter quite a bit with Gibbs (See wynn and the $4mill he's getting as a backup when he only produced at a $2mill/year pace as a starter).
