every year ea puts out the same crap with maybe 1 new feature and charges out the ass for it. i said it before that the only way ea would have gotten my money was to put CP on the cover. and still then i was not sure if i would buy it again

Question for anyone who has already bought the game: Is it worth the price?

and another question if you answered yes: did you buy last years?

I was a diehard madden fan. i bought every game ea ever put out until this year. 2 months after playing it you all will realize that its the same damn game as last year. ea has lost my buisness until they do a complete remake of the game, not just tweaking it here or there. I am not going to spend 50 bucks on one or two new moves or tackles. i can pull out madden 03 and its practically the same game as 07.

I bought the 360 and PS2 version, and I too was up until 5am playing, I spent more time on the PS2 version, but I really like the new feel of the 360 version, I'm more happy than last year, but barley, I played a game online last night with a homeboy and I was the Skins of course and he was Dal ASS, and I was winning 14-13 and had to friendly quit (new born) woke up.....I will play the PS2 more head to head, but the 360 I will dab into the Franchise or Superstar Mode...... I say by one version, whatever system you got.......and pratice on your game......enjoy it for what it is....a game

no. it's never been worth the price, i don't think many would argue that. this is true now more than ever in an era where we can update games online through systems like Marketplace. EA should charge $20 for the annual roster updates and the sparse 'new features'.

unfortunately, we buy it every year for our love of the NFL, not EA's love for game innovation. that's why they spent more money on getting the license than trying to compete and develop worthy new facets of game every year.

yes, you can believe it's frustrating. more so when you realize many of the 'new' features were out years ago on previous NFL games (precision passing, the 'highlight stick', etc etc).

I HATE EA.

but I LOVE THE REDSKINS.

sadly, EA knows this about everybody. :(

My thoughts on the game so far:

-No, there aren't a ton of new features and yes it's another roster update with some minor tweaks here and there, but as someone has already mentioned this is the way Madden has been for the past few years. Madden on the current gen systems has run it's course.

-That being said it's still a quality game worth picking up if you're a fan of the series, I'm liking it ALOT more than 2006 based on gameplay so far.

-I like what they've done with the running game. You can't make those dramatic jump cuts anymore that would leave defenders with broken ankles. The cutting moves are much more subtle and realistic. In the past you could get your RB out in space, make one move and take it to the house. Not anymore. Love the lead blocking system too, at first I thought it seemed useless but it's actually fun to play as a FB sometimes kicking out some lead blocks.

-Love the new kicking system with the right analog stick. They should have made this change a long time ago.

-I thought the defenses were too jacked up in 2006. This year it seems like your WRs work back to the ball alot more. On a curl route for example, your WR doesn't just run the route and stand there waiting for the ball to come to him. He comes back to the ball so the DB can't just jump in front and swat it down each time.

I just got my copy, and so far i'm pleased with it. Making Superstar Mode so that you can only control your player is pretty awesome. But my question is, isn't there a way you can make it so you only control your player, and that when his position isn't on the field he watches from the sidelines? I don't know where to change it so i only play when I'm on the field.

in the game options there's a choice of normal-coach-player mode for playing the games.

nvm. I found out how to change it, you have to go into the menu during a game and press L1 or R1.

i played the 360 version all night. EA HATES THE REDSKINS. and i'm not just taking about Cooley at Fullback.

you cannot, i repeat, * CANNOT wear whites at home *. there's no all-white uniform (to be sold on Xbox Live Marketplace at a later date; no i'm not kidding) and even if you specifically choose AWAY uniforms at home, the skins come out in Darks.

know what team EA is aware wears whites at home? yes thats right, the cowcunts.

the animations have been smoothed out and added to. Portis feels like the electryifing running back he is. i'm a perennial Madden hater, but they should be applauded for how they handled the movement/animations of the players.

that said, the FIELDS LOOK LIKE ASS. yeah they get progressively chewed up as the game goes on, but the texture itself looks extremely Genesis era. the 'grass' is very low-fi zoomed out, day-glo green and it repeats in true 8-bit style.

yeah, i'm a big visuals/graphics guy. its supposed to be 'next-gen' after all.

Skins playbooks are all too familiar. although, there IS a SHOTGUN formation now.

the Redskins 'wallpaper' in the 360 menus is a shot of Ladell Betts? whatever, EA finally paid attention to my favorite part of the actual game (running) so it's a solid 'improvement' considering EA's motivations. yeah Madden is still saying the exact same things from the 90s...
The grass looks awesome on HDTV. Are you playing on a HDTV?

I like the new grass on PC.
