If having Pierce is so great why are the Giants are ranked 27th in the league this year in total defense, whereas the Redskins (w/o Pierce) are ranked 15th. He's a very good LB but he's starting to look more like just another product of GW's system since Marshal is putting up similiar stats that Pierce did in 2004 through the first three games.

So Marshall isn't a product of the system? Two guys who aren't products of the system are Carter and Archuletta. Both were bad before they came here and they remain bad.

They know he's not a #1 caliber corner yet. So they throw the ball who they feel is there best receiever. If someone guarding your best weapon on offense isn't your best weapon on defense, you exploit that mismatch. When Springs is in, they know he's a veteran that has played consistently, so they avoid him. Are you saying other teams believe Rodgers is our worst corner, and therefore "victimizing" him is the result? No, that's where they see the biggest mismatch. Where Sean Taylor is on the field can help also play a role. Regardless, my point was that you can't assume Rodgers is worse than Rumph or Wright because other teams are picking on him. They're exploiting the biggest mismatch in the defense and thats why they're going after him.

My comment was being critical of you praising Pierce with defensive ranking. I think that's way to broad of a catagory to attribute to one player. The redskins defense falling down the rank doesn't necessarily point as a direct result from Pierce's departure either. Team rankings aren't a consistent enough statistic to assume that one player leaving directly impacted the ranking of the team the following year. Theres too many variables, including other defenses improving from year to year. I don't feel that's an impossible concept to grasp, and I apoligize if I was being too vague.

Look at the points allowed for all 3 (and that includes the td's that Brunell would hand the opposing D on a weekly basis). As Lionel Hutz woud say, "Case closed your honor".

skipping the entirety of the thread, and having no idea what you guys are arguing about, I'd like to say that I seriously think we're jumping the gun on how bad he sucks. Several players looked somewhat lousy when first inserted into this D and they have developed. I met Archuletta a long time ago in AZ, and he seemed like good peeps. I really hope he gets his form and our scheme melded the way he needs to and we have a better tandem than Taylor and Clark (who I do miss, by the way... he's laid some wood this year with the steelers).

He squatted 273 in 3.47 seconds, ran the 40 in 4.79-4.81 and had a 26-inch vertical jump. Today, his personal best in the bench press is 530 pounds in 1.09 seconds and in the squat, 663 pounds in 1.24 seconds. At an individual workout for NFL scouts, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds and jumped 39 inches vertically.

No, I work at a Japanese Jr. High School, which is probably worse than a monestary

Every game i can't help thinking what a waste of money this guy was. It must be a smack in the face to Sean Taylor whose salary is like half that of Adam's. It's a real blower that we lost Pierson.. he always seemed to step it up and is a good cover man, it would of been a good combo with him in on passing downs and Adam in for blitzes and stopping the run. I feel like we should look into signing a good cover safety or trading for one. What do you guys think?

Patience please. I don't think that the Redskins have developed their character yet. The same can be said for AA as a Redskin. There is not sufficient input yet for me to make a sound judgement on several of our new players. This team has yet to come together.

My hope is that he will soon become the player in our defense that he has the potential to be.
