i can't see green coming back as a starter or a backup.i would think that next year jason campbell will be the first string qb regardless, with brunnel waiting in the wings, and collins 3rd.was damon huard in kc last year with sanders,or did they just sign him this year?

Huard has been with them. He's a free agent this spring. It'd be crazy if he's the one who left

dont count out the idea of the skins going after green ,seems gibbs loves having a fossil at quarterback.it would be nice to see someone who could throw more than 15 or 20 yards..i'd like to see someone who could air it out, jesus memories of schroeder throwing are even good to me now .:benched:

Oh God no! Please don't bring his old ass to D.C.. We don't know how he will perform after the concussion. Would be a great back up to Campbell though.

there are at least 6-10 teams that'd be able to use him as an immediate starter, so i think the percentages disfavor him coming back in burgundy and gold.

I agree, but for a #2 behind JC who would you rather have Collins or Green?

I would take Green!

Just like the old days Kilmer and Jerggy! LOL

Brunell. I seriously believe he'll be the backup next year. MB kbnows the offense (well better than an outsider and even Trent Green since this is OBVIOUSLY not the same playbook as in KC), he knows the WRs and linemen, Gibbs obviously trusts him and despite what the media and ESPN like to say, he's having a great year this year so he can still play.

He'd be a PERFECT backup for us. Without playing 16 games, his body will be in good condition if he ever has to fill in for Campbell.

He'd have to restructure his contract right? I mean my understanding is that fiscally the best option is to release him.

I could see Brunell retiring rather than accepting a backup role.

I agree, and I also think his decision to retire, or not, will depend on how the team finishes the season, coupled with the their willingness to bring him back at 6.6 mil. If he's on the team, he will have to restructure regardless of whether he's the starter or backup. I just can't imagine him at 37 being willing to go into the season as the backup QB. He will count only 1.5 mil. in DC if he's released after June 1st, that's a sizeable saving in the event he is released.
