Marshall has proven that he can get the job done. I wouldn't cast him aside after one down year especially when you consider the entire defense has been extremely disappointing.

Even the best of LBs in this league look horrible when the front four can't keep the OL off of them, which is our problem right now.

i agree here. last year i thought Marshall should have had serious consideration for the pro bowl. the problem basically starts up front. plain and simple, those guys aren't getting it done

Which is very bad news, considering a front four is one of the hardest things to build, besides an O-line. I feel like this franchise has been avoiding it for that reason.

I'm kinda back and forth on this one. While I think that the front 4 is garbage, I still don't think Lemar Marshall is a good MLB. I think he's too damn slow. However, there were times last season when he did come up with some big plays. He looks like he's moving in slow motion out there sometimes and there have been a lot of times when I've thought "they'd have had a sack if Marshall had ANY speed." (twice during the Giants game I believe) Anyway, I don't think he's a very good MLB. That said, I think he'd be an even worse OLB because of the issue with his speed. He's just all around not fast enough. I don't think putting back at his "natural position" is the solution. He's not that great at either and doesn't have the tools to be dominant.

That said, I don't think the Skins should address this by going out and getting some under 30 year old FA that they're gonna pay 40 million. They should get a quality guy with some quickness and leave it at that. They've got Washington and they need to see if Rocky can play. After all he was taken in the 2nd round.

Exactly. A guy taken in the second round should become a solid NFL starter. Physically, he must have the tools so it is just mental question. Hopefully, now that the skins have taken the plunge with Campbell they might start introducing Rocky. Introducing a LB is far easier than a new starting QB. I'm amazed that we haven't seen him on some plays a least.

You can't blame a single player. Our front 4 plays like shit which translates to the LBs playing like shit, which in turn results in the DB playing like shit. This team has packed it in.

I agree. I was thinking last night about our acquisition of Kenny Wright. He made plays last year for the Jags and hasn't done much of anything for us. The only reason I could come up with was that the Jags front 4 put the secondary and LBs in positions to make plays because they produce such a strong push. It's been so long since we've had a solid D-line. I hope we can fix it during the off season.

its basically hurting Rockys development. no way are we playing for anything now. put the kid in, get him some experience and see if he can make some plays. No way are we keeping Holdman next year, so who cares. I think this coaching staff is far to forgiving for the veterans. They all want these guys on the field. its just not that kind of NFL anymore. it may have been a thinking mans game, and to some extent it still is. But players now are so fast, and athletic that you need to have them on the field. Especially a 2nd round pick that you HAD TO HAVE! LB especially. I think our season is so far down the toilet, that if rocky misses a couple of tackles or out of position for a play or two its not going to break our season. Plus, with his speed and ability he may make some plays, cause a turnover, hey and maybe make some tackles that Holdman just can't seem to make.
Holdman has gotten off rather easy if you ask me. Arch was getting toasted a lot and got benched. Holdman is out of position and getting mushed all the time, missing tackles and still on the damn field. What ever happened to James Posey. I thought they were suppose to rotate him in and out from time to time. he would be better than holdman, all though he is an old guy.
