9-7 To The Playoffs?itvnetop 11-26-2006, 08:17 PM take one game at a time... it's the reason we went on that 5 game streak last season. you start to think too big and you'll fall flat in what's directly in front of you. redrock-skins 11-26-2006, 08:18 PM Let's win the next two at home and then we can start speculating about the playoffs. A huge AMEN! on that statement. I can't even think about it until then. hurrykaine 11-26-2006, 08:21 PM whack away to this fantasy about winning out and going to the playoffs...but make sure to clean up when you're done. Pocket$ $traight 11-26-2006, 08:56 PM Terrible post. How about we put together at least a two game win streak before we jump the gun on the playoffs. Redskin 11-26-2006, 10:02 PM This thread is frickin retarded. Why talk playoffs? We are an average to below average team with too many conference losses. Typical fan getting ahead of themselves. We are 4-7! Bring something bettter to the table. And once again if you dont like the turkey dont eat the gravey :cheeky-sm 724Skinsfan 11-26-2006, 10:17 PM I'll never stop thinking about making the playoffs in any year until we have been mathematically eliminated. Too many weird seasons in the past for all NFL teams to not have some heart. I think (hope) we all realize that the chances of going this year are....remote...to say the least, but it doesn't really hurt to continue pulling for our team to make a run. Redskin 11-26-2006, 10:26 PM And there is nothing wrong with rooting for your team week in and week out, it would be nice ot make the playoffs and with a few acts of divine intervention it might not be all that hard. We need to find a team that plays the teams ahead of us a pray week in and week out and as hard as it may be this team might be the giants 724Skinsfan 11-26-2006, 10:39 PM Just for fun here are the teams we need to pull for next week (Week 13). The team in paranthesis is who they are playing against which is in our way for a wildcard. Don't get mad when you see two particular teams that I suggest. And remember, just...for...fun! Dallas (Giants) Eagles (Panthers, I'm assuming the Eagles will lose tonight) Bears (Vikings) Jets (Packers) Washington Redskins (of course) Saints (49er's) Arizona (Rams) This would put us surprisingly close to a wild card spot (one game behind). It's actually not too unrealistic. Maybe the Arizona/Rams game. In Week 14 here are the teams we need to pull for: Panthers (Giants) Washington Redskins (of course) Lions (Vikings) Packers (49er's; assuming Green Bay loses tomorrow) Tampa Bay (Falcons) Bears (Rams) GTripp0012 11-27-2006, 08:12 AM The skins have so many conference losses, and that would be assuming we could win out, which I doubt. The key is that if we were to win out, we would have beaten the Panthers, Saints, Falcons and Rams. So against those teams, our conference record would be irrelivant since we beat all of them. There's still a chance we can catch the Giants, also. The tough thing is that the Vikings can only win twice more the rest of the year, or we won't be able to catch them. 9-7 is pretty far off at this point, and I don't see us beating New Orleans. However, if we take out the trash these next two weeks, stranger things have happened. Jason72 11-27-2006, 08:30 AM Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No. It would be a major feat just to win 6 in a row in the NFL, no matter who you are. If you were to pull that off, then 9-7 doesn't usually get you in the playoffs, and if it does you probably will have to win a tiebreaker which is out of your hands. |
