he'd be good no matter what. peyton helps though. and again, being good and being an a-hole aren't mutually exclusive by any means.

His performance on Sunday KILLED me in fantasy football! Do I bench him this week or will that thumb-headed bastard finally throw him the damn ball!!?? not if addai goes off like that again :/. Pocket$ $traight 11-28-2006, 09:19 PM I have read so many stupid comments about Harrison in this thread it is comical. For once can somebody consider the body of work? This is the first time that I can remember him being involved in anything negative...ANYTHING When he scores, he hands the ball to the official. He doesn't embarrass his team, he doesn't embarrass himself. He doesn't grill his team in the media and he doesn't complain about his contract. All he does is go out and do his job and toast the top cornerbacks on a regular basis. Jerry Rice said that he was the best receiver in football. Does his opinion count for anything? Redskin 11-28-2006, 10:44 PM Not really that big of a hissy fit Crat92 11-29-2006, 07:40 PM Marvin Harrison is by far one of the best, or maybe the best WR in the league. Peyton does not make him. His route running and his hands make him great. But.......... that was pretty F'ed up what he did. We've dogged every other WR that did something similar(i.e. Randy Moss, T.O., etc.). Fair is fair! jdlea 11-29-2006, 07:48 PM The difference is you get Randy Moss and TO doing it every week. I don't know what his deal was on Sunday. Maybe he's actually a selfish guy and just doesn't talk much...I don't know. Regardless, he's a great receiver. SmootSmack 11-29-2006, 07:55 PM Well Dungy responded to the incident by first saying that he didn't notice Harrison had left early then he later said he gave Harrison permission to leave the field early to get some stretching in at halftime. Either way, it doesn't mean he's not a great receiver. And at the same time, the fact that he's quiet and unassuming doesn't necessarily mean he's a great guy. Maybe he is, I don't know. Daseal 11-30-2006, 12:24 PM I hope Joseph Addai keeps it up! He was my sleeper pick on almost all my teamx! Monkeydad 11-30-2006, 01:21 PM I remember that game, The announcer asked 10 DBs who the best WR was and 9 of the ten said Harrison. His numbers are amazing. He would be a good player for any team. Harrison's numbers BEFORE Peyton Manning: '96 (rookie year) = Indy's leading receiver with 836 yds, 8 TDs. QBs were Jim Harbaugh (405 passes thrown) and Paul Justin (127 passes thrown). '97 = Indy's leading receiver with 866 yds, 6 TDs. QBs were Jim Harbaugh (309 passes thrown), Paul Justin (140 passes thrown) and Kelly Holcomb (73 passes thrown). His numbers actually went DOWN when Manning first arrived, only 700+ yards in '98. |
