That Guy 12-01-2006, 05:21 PM also, we only have a 1, 5, 6, 7 this year, so how are we going to draft all those guys? and why bother with podesh when Sepulveda is available in the 5th and brandon fields might be undrafted?
crosby is going in the 2nd and wilson probably goes in the 3rd, they're both the types that raise as the draft gets closer. why get lamar when we might have a shot at a guy like gaines? woodley's probably a better fit for a 3-4, which we haven't really used. otherwise you've got a small (weight and height) DE without great speed, or a big LB without good speed.
daniels is 33 and wynn is 32, so i don't know where you did your research on that. you also don't give contract's to guys still on rookie deals generally. cooley's not going to be worth much more next year than he is this year, so that's just throwing away cap space for no reason. no to mention it'd be impossible to take archuleta's hit then go around and overpay ANOTHER safety. did you even run the numbers before putting that post up? how do you hand out that many big contracts, resign our players, and take arch's cap hit and stay under? you do NOT pay you're #2 TE 3mill per unless he's superman.
you can't trade down like that (when's the last time a single team has traded down 4 times in one round), not to mention denver has the option to force a trade down if we're too close. oh yeah, woodley is going closer to the 15th overall pick than the 30th, so you'd need to pick another player there too.
JoeRedskin 12-01-2006, 05:22 PM redskins dont have the cash to pay clements, if you pay him 55 mill
then forgeet about signing the first round pick , dockery is lost, betts and duckett, and no other free agents sign.
Okay, if your are going to make claims like these you really should break down the numbers if you want to be taken seriously:
- Where you getting the 55M number on Clements AND how are you asserting the contract will be structured?
- IF you are seriously suggesting that Gibbs & Co. are incapable of restructuring existing contracts and new contracts in a manner that would enable them to sign clements, a first round pick, dockery and (betts or duckett), THEN please tell me what you expect each to demand in a signing bonus and tell me why Brunnell, Wynn, Samuels, Jansen and/or a host of other existing contracts can't be restructured or terminated to accomodate these bonuses. Otherwise you are really just talking out your ass.

Uh oh CarlosR - you have invoked the analytical draft wrath of That Guy. I fear that your doom approaches.
Big C 12-01-2006, 05:28 PM i like your ideas carlosrogersisdaman, but i think frost has been pretty good this year and we dont need to draft a punter
charlielyons 12-01-2006, 06:07 PM as far as f.a goes i would only sign gibrail wilson from the giants, hes a beast he can cover and hes young and sign a young less expensive cb like gay from patriots
hesscl34 12-01-2006, 07:27 PM ok tell brunell to take a 5 million $ pay cut then :food-smil
He'll do it for Joe and the Redskins!!! :benched:

simple last offseason clements was a free agent the bills franchised him he was looking for a 60 milion deal
champ bailey got 64 Mill 3 years ago , Clements want 55-60 million , they are abou tthe same age.

wilson is over rated , he gets punked in the running game is basically an under sized safety .

frost are u kidding me lol , the guy that kicks the ball 35 yards a punt lol
frost cant get a job on any other nfl team
this punter from maryland kicks the ball 50 yard like its nothing, and hav a long of 71 this year.

redskins traded down like 3 times in 2002 when we got ramsey at 32 ,maybe we trade down 3 times ok, but we get young skilled players FOR CHEAP . gaines adams to me is a little over rated, he is not very good in the run he weights less that woodley , wood is 6-1 274 , adams is 6-5 260, adams has a body like carter. and woodley has a body like merriman .
wynn is done, daniels has very litle left in the tank.
the 49ers gave vernon davis 25 million? and his a damn rookie :argue:
