skinsguy 12-05-2006, 08:55 PM I hate to admit it, but Rexi was absolutely 100% right about Lloyd. That skinny, whiny, fugly wideout should be shipped to Iraq with an American flag stapled to his forehead.
Whoooaaa.... I don't think he has been that bad. Our offense (and playcalling) has been way out of sync this year....so Loyd hasn't really had an opportunities (until now) to get himself into the game. I think he can still be a star for us. Certainly time will tell, but he's obviously doing more for us than David Patten or, gulp, Taylor Jacobs did.

I wrote my 1st post in this thread (the one you quoted) just after reading the WP article about Lloyd. Needless to say, I was 100% pissed after reading that Lloyd has been causing problems in the locker room.
Please see my second post in this thread (the last one on the first page of the thread). I am still very pissed at Lloyd right now, but I articulated my thoughts/feelings a little better in my second post.

Easy slugger....
You could have just said he's bad. No need to invoke the war my man.
As far as his production goes, I think Lloyd isn't deserving of any scape-goat mentality as of yet. Our offense all shares the blame. Why not scream at ARE. Why not hate on Chris Cooley for his game on sunday? Lloyd isn't worth the money, but he's probably accurately labled the #2 receiver on the team.
Quick question to the board. Do you think James Thrash has been working extra with Campbell during the season? Has he been doing after practice work-outs, 2nd team stuff, etc...
Seems like they're on the same page.
Edit: There is no excuse for his behavior, however. He should stop the bitching, and control his emotions. That's out of character for this team, and I'm sure Gibbs will get that point across. If not, then he's gone.

I wasn't making a political statement (either pro or anti-war), it was pure, 100% hyperbole. Sorry if you or others took it otherwise, didn't mean any offense. I've tried to clear this issue up, but I guess I can't.
Redskin 12-05-2006, 10:33 PM I dont think loyd is bad at all he has made some good catches this year when the ball has been thrown his way and hes made some mistakes but havent they all?

It's all good, just kinda shocked me. I guess that's sort of the point of a hyperbole though.
I'm kinda slow on those things.

Given the seriousness of the Iraq situation, I should have avoided it. Again, I apologize to anyone who was offended and certainly understand how it was inappropriate to reference Iraq. I was not trying to make any political statement. I simply made a dumb, off-the-cuff remark.
The bottom line, for me, is that he is no Portis, Moss, Cooley or some stud player who has any right to whine about the rest of the team. Can he be pissed about things he can control (i.e. his hands and routes)? Yes. Can he get upset and angry when we lose? Yes. But he has no right to cause locker room problems, especially when you consider what we're paying him.
Sorry, I'll stop whining about Lloyd now.
JWsleep 12-06-2006, 12:12 AM I'm not sold on Lloyd, and this stuff about his attitude is wack.
But why isn't ARE getting the ball? Is he not getting open? Is he not getting really used as the third WR? I would have expected more there--he's got great open field moves, he's a good team guy, etc. He's been invisible except on punt returns. What's the deal?
skinsfan69 12-06-2006, 12:30 AM The FO knew about LLoyd's issues and they chose to ignore it. So now they are just going to have to deal with it. They are stuck with him.
mike340 12-06-2006, 04:54 AM Thrash has been undervalued as a receiver. I remember (over the course of the years) that he's gotten the ball many times when the QB is under pressure, probably because he seems to adjust very well to how a play develops. While he makes (almost) no highlight-reel catches, he makes catches that continue drives and makes almost no mental mistakes. (e.g. he doesn't position himself just short of the 1st down marker.) I think his loss at the end of last year hurt us more than most people realize.
(I am trying to explain why JC might naturally have a rapport with Thrash; I confess, however, that I cannot answer the question. Just showing I like the player.)
