I think the special teams have been great this year. The most consistent I've seen in a long time. The one exception is our kicking game which is officially a joke.

Gmanc711 12-08-2006, 10:56 AM I know this sonds crazy, but I would like to see Shuisham get alot of feild goal opprotunities from all over the feild these last few weeks to see what we got there. If he isnt anyone who can consistantly workout for us, we need to address that position in a seroius way. SmootSmack 12-08-2006, 11:04 AM Definitely have to give props to the guys on teams that don't get the ball-Jimoh, Thrash, K. Campbell, even Rocky dmek25 12-08-2006, 11:07 AM ade has had an outstanding special teams season JoeRedskin 12-08-2006, 12:38 PM Of the three areas, I would agree that teams have been the best on a consistent basis. They have, however, been far from spectacular (two blocks, several missed fg's that, eventually, cost the game, more than one or two long kick-off returns). Don't get me wrong, I think that they have been generally good. It's just that, compared to a defense that can't stop the big-play and an offense that doesn't have an identity, teams has looked solid. If the other two parts of the teams were performing up to snuff, perhaps we would be complaining about the blocks and misses and wondering why the can't perform these basic tasks. As it is, I think teams have been pretty solid and certainly seem (from a personal impression, purely opinion stand point) to be doing better than last year. SmootSmack 12-08-2006, 12:50 PM I think if Williams goes to another team, he will definitely try to take Danny Smith with him. As I hear it, the two are very close. Smith is like Williams' little protege ArtMonkDrillz 12-08-2006, 12:51 PM This is sort of off-topic, but not really. How many packs of Big League Chew does Danny Smith go through a season? I'm guess it's at least 2 a game, so 40 a season (including the preseason); and that's not even counting practice. jdlea 12-08-2006, 12:54 PM The fact that the special teams are stepping up should be evidence that the Skins need to KEEP Saunders, Williams, and Gibbs. Smith and the special teams were garbage for a few years. Ya know what? Stick with it and it just might come around. They need to go ahead and keep a lot of the stafff together. I don't wanna see some knee jerk reaction where they clean house this weekend. They need to keep it together and try to win with the same guys. Jamaican'Skin 12-08-2006, 03:51 PM Teams has been the lone bright spot on a tumultous season, but we need a consistent kicker. I think I heard someone mention that they wouldn't mind having Vanderjagt here. Don't like that one. Don't like that idea at all |
