I went with something a little more surprising here. I said OG. Our pass pro has been horrid at times this season, we are among the tops of the league in holding penalties, and Dockery is a free agent. I want a OG who can start from day 1 and pass block better than DD while also being powerful in the run game.

Interesting point on the holding penalties. Something is wrong when every guy on the line gets a holding penalty or false start each game. There isn't one specific person though, they all are guilty of it. And yes, the pass protection has struggled a lot (but that might have to do with Saunders and the H-Backs and tightends picking up blitzes properly.

Do you know that we've given up just 17 sacks this season?

That's 4th best in the league.

But Pucillo and Dockery are both free agents and this unit needs to be upgraded.

That's 4th best in the league.I did NOT know that, but I was talking more about the pressures, and I think that low sack total is due to Brunell getting the ball out of his hands quickly. We didnt give up a sack in multiple games this year, but that doesn't mean there wasn't consistent pressure all day.

Also with the holding penalties that we commit all time time, are those not sacks if we dont commit the penalty?

We are leading the league in penalties, I wouldn't say we are very good at anything. Not giving up sacks has to be attributed to the brunell snap and release style of offense all season.

How does Jansen fit into next years o-line?

I've heard some very negative things regarding his play, and from some of the film I've seen, he doesn't have the kind of push that he used too.

Thoughts?

A few weeks ago I was thinking that we should replace Dockery but lately I've been watching him more and he's actually having a very good season. I'd like to see us re-sign him and keep the starting 5 in place for a few more seasons.

Jansen is nursing a calf injury that basically keeps him out of practice most of each week. It's probably more serious than we know. Get him healthy and he's still a very good RT.
