Notice Indy and Oakland are 2 and 1 is passing d. Then notice the attempts. They had the least amount of attempts against them of any team in the league also. The fact that their run d was so bad was a main reason their pass d was so 'good'. I am not saying their pass wasn't decent. Just that the stats don't tell the whole story. Watching them several times made realize just how bad their run d was and just how under challenged their pass d was.

It also made me want to poke my eyes out. But that's a whole other issue. :)Pass defense ratings are always flawed by those crazy attempts. But that 24th against the run figure is also skewed by attempts. I don't think they were the 3rd best defense in the NFL. More like somewhere between 8th and 10th. Still, theres no basis to say it was an abberation (outside of opinion), when they have one of the better secondaries in the NFL.

the raiders have drafted a lot of speed (in fact, when making a mock draft, only look at the 40 times, and you know who the raiders are taking months ahead of time).

I don't think a guy coming straight from college into his first gig under that owner has much of a chance. If they win 8 games i'd be completely floored... they'll get a joke schedule too.

HORRIBLE HIRE!!!!!!! What are the Raiders thinking? AL DAVIS IS SUCH A TOOL. He just wants a coach that he can push around. He would never hire anyone that demands respect. How is a 31 year old punk with barely any NFL experience going to command respect in the locker room? And don't give me comparisions to Mangini. At least Mangini coached under Belichick for several years. I'm sure the vets are just laughing. Raiders are the worst run team in the NFL. Even worse than us.
