Electric always left me feeling like I hadn't shaved yet...sandpapery feel. Also dried out the skin.

MTK 03-27-2012, 07:08 PM My Dad has always shaved with an electric. I don't know how he does it, but it works for him I guess. ArtMonkDrillz 03-27-2012, 07:14 PM Growing a beard was one of the best decisions I've ever made (I haven't made many important life decisions in my 30 years on this planet). I do have to shave under my chin/neck a little bit two or three times a week, but it takes me like 2 minutes so it's not bad. EARTHQUAKE2689 03-27-2012, 07:23 PM Amd ftw!!!! los panda 03-27-2012, 08:18 PM i just use a beard trimmer on the shortest setting. i've shaved once in 2012 PWNED 03-28-2012, 10:23 PM JUST started getting some hairs, probably from the extenze, but goddamn its a jungle... on my face. Monkeydad 04-13-2012, 11:00 AM 6oLHAGfRa54 Schneed10 04-13-2012, 11:37 AM Back around the holidays I got my wife some Clinique face crap that she likes, and as part of the purchase they gave me a free sample of their men's line stuff, which included a pre-shave face scrub. I tried it and that made a seriously noticeable difference in the comfort of the shave and the end result. It sloughs off dead skin and flakes and oil deposits before you go to shave, so the blade goes across a smoother base of skin. I get fewer red bumps and infected ingrown spots as a result. So I bought some. And now I use Clinique. So?? I'll still cut you off in traffic. Monkeydad 04-13-2012, 11:42 AM ^ The key is going to be what you're using to shave with after the Clinique... A manly tool like a double-edge blade or straight razor...or a sissified plastic cartridge "razor" advertised by effeminate young men with popped collars and bathe in Axe? mooby 04-13-2012, 11:43 AM I'm still using the Merkur 180 with the DE blades, and it works fine for me. Of course, I'm not doing it as the video suggests, because I don't like my shave to take too long, and I'm just using a cheap gel instead of investing in a brush/bowl/cream/aftershave balm, but so far so good. I'm shaving on a once or twice weekly basis now, and I can dump a blade about once a week and it works great. I think I might invest in the brush/bowl/cream/aftershave soon as well, but I'll probably use it for special occasions instead of making it a regular occurence. |
