If the Colts win the SB I'm pretty sure they won't franchise Freeney. I'd like to see us go after Freeney because he'll make our defense so much better.

So what do you do w/ Carter? They both play the same position. Not gonna happen.

I can agree with this, ASSUMING Gibbs continues to assert his philosophy on offense and ASSUMING G Williams figures out what the hell is wrong with our secondary.

Status quo personnel-wise wouldn't be TERRIBLE (wouldn't be ideal either). But status quo scheme-wise is absolutely not going to get it done.

We definitely need Dockery if we want to continue to enjoy a strong running attack. It's pissing me off that he's not signed, it should have happened by now. Every day that goes by without a deal, he's thinking more and more about free agency. I'm starting to think there is a greater than 50% chance he'll be gone, and it sickens me.

Schneed - I'd say it is more like 100% Dockery will test the free agent market. I have heard that the availability of good starting guards on the market is pretty thin and Dockery's agent (does anyone know who is representing him?) probably is telling him he can make a ton more on the free agent market than he can by resigning. Plus for some reason Synder seems to implement much more fiscal restraint when it comes to resigning his own players than other teams free agents.

I'm naming myself chancellor of the Warpath's official "Jason Dunn to the Redskins posse". Might cost us a late draft pick, maybe a 6th...but it would drasticly help both our running to the edges and pass blocking. Espicially after being forced to watch Christian Fauria last year, a career safety valve forced into being a blocking TE. After about the 3rd hold without a successful block, I had my eye on Dunn.

All aboard?
dunn's been in the league for like 10 years, kinda old if you ask me.

dunn's been in the league for like 10 years, kinda old if you ask me.Yeah, but blocking is one of the last skills to go. It's why you see all those lineman playing past the age of 35 (I think Dunn is 32). We could draft a blocking TE next year (2008) when we have more picks. He played for Saunders from 2002-2005 and if we could get two good years from his blocking abilities, it'd be worth a late rounder.

I keep hearing they're targeting a DE with their first pick. Possibly Adams at 6th or try to trade down for Quentin Moses. In my opinion, neither is as good or as valuable to the Skins as Jamaal Anderson. I, as most of you have heard me say ad nauseaum, would have loved for them to draft a DT like Branch and sign Justin Smith. But that doesn't look too likely either

Again, we'll miss out on the Shawn Merriman of the draft. Not saying he is, but if we DON'T draft him, he'll blow up somewhere else.

Just my gut feeling that Dockery is going to want to test the waters initially but we'll still get him signed. I say Clements will be the first to sign out of the gate and Redskins One will be headed his way at 12:01am on March 2.

Since we're doing all this speculating, when is the first date that we'll be able to hear something officially Redskins related like the start of FA, the draft, etc?
