Rogers is always jacking people up. A lot of people agree on this and I believe it's true: he is one of the best "tacklers" in the league at corner.
People are always on his ass because they parrot what they read. He had two "bad" games, really only one if you throw out the Joey Galloway touchdown.Well, Rogers did get toasted in pass coverage more than a team would like, but isn't the team's ability to stop the run half of defense? We had a defensive line that was consistently pushed off the ball and we finished exactly league average vs the run. That's a tribute to the job the guys in the secondary (Namely #22 and #21) did playing the run probably better than any secondary in the league.
Now if we could only get a secondary that played the pass better than a few of the 31 other teams, that'd be fantastic.

I wouldn't even go THAT far. I think he got toasted fairly badly in the Vikings game. After that, I'd really only say I can recall the Joey Galloway one. Teams threw away from him the rest of the season (mainly because Wright was on the other side).

Our blitzes never got there (cause the line was horrible) and we hung our DBs out to dry. So the toastings aren't completely his fault even.
He does have to shrink that "cussion" though. I don't care if its the scheme or him, but that's gotta go.

I agree. When he was playing man coverage, he was always all over his receiver. That's something that needs to change too...way too much Cover 2.

That's something that needs to change too...way too much Cover 2.One other thing: many young CBs in this league bust because while they are in there, they hold and grab and committ illegal contact fouls that cost their team. Rogers has done none of that. Due to this, he will continue to progress next year instead of having to unlearn a bad habit, a la Ahmad Carroll of the Packers who is now out of the league.
A lot of our schemes seem bizarre. I'm not going to play psychologist though, I just hope it gets better for next year.

Now he just has to hold onto the damn ball. We've said it many times, but if he holds onto all of those "sure" interceptions, he would have had at least 4-5 more picks. In addition to that if he even caught 25% of the ones that were more difficult, he'd have maybe had in the range of 8-9 INTs and we're all having a VERY different conversation right now.

That doesn't matter to me. He's putting himself in position to make a bunch of picks, and poor hands aside, he is going to make a percentage of those catches. He will lead the team in INTs probably every year for the next 5 going foward. Just a prediction.
If the 49ers don't sign Clements and Thomas I will be kind of pissed.
