We cannot afford the hit right now so the Bears would have to eat some garunteed money BUT you just cannot get over the feeling they would be getting a bargin.

People say how much we overspent last year but how much would these guys have cost us this year . Deon Grant (sp) got more than Archuletta from the Seahawks a few days ago and how much did the Eagles just give Curtis?

I think if there is a trade there has to be a buy back of at least $4 million because right now he would cost us more to cut or trade than sit at home.

A second or third round pick would be a gift but we have no real insentive to deal the guy... this is not a Ramsey or Gardner situation where it is obvious we want to deal them.

The real insentive to get rid of this guy is he's no good. I'm sure there is only more behind the scenes...we'll never really know? What I think we all know is what he did or should I say did not do last year. LEASON LEARNED! Hopefully?

By the way, we do have the money to part ways with ARCH NOW!
If we can get a late draft outta this guy, cut your losses now, learn a lesson and MOVE ON!

we can part with arch now, though it'd obviously be better if the bears would try to take a couple mill off our cap.

Let me propose this trade: Chicago gets Archuletta and Rocky McIntosh, we get Lance Briggs. Briggs wants out of Chicago, and Chicago liked Archuletta from the get go. Perhaps we can make this work in terms of the cap (although admittedly, I don't see how), but a LB core of Fletcher, Briggs, and Washington ought to make Tiki glad he's retired.

while briggs trade value is down, rocky + arch combined are worthless since one ended up as a punt protector and the other was nothing more than a part-time special teamer anyways. they could get a lot more than that from a lot of other teams.

That would be a bad trade for us, Briggs would cost a mountain of $$$ which is precious cap room that needs to be spent elsewhere.

I agree, plus I can't see another team taking over Arch's contract without expecting us to eat a good portion of it.
His agent says they will not give up any of the money that he was originally guaranteed, so I can't see how we'll trade him any time soon.
