TheMalcolmConnection 03-20-2007, 04:31 PM Part of me is considering CJ as well. I mean we made some moves on D. I'd love to see if GW could get this ship turned around just with Fletcher-Baker, THEN we go DT or DE next year if we suck so much ass we have to pick early again.
But again, I'm also of the opinion that as long as we DON'T take RB or QB, I'm fine.

Do you think you can turn around a 31st ranked D with FLETCH? Or even Fletch/ Smoot? Come on, that's just crazy.
I hope also we don't get a QB/RB in the draft, cause we don't need either?
GoSkins! 03-20-2007, 04:37 PM For arguements sake...
If CJ is still available at 4, the 4th pick is valued at 1800 and the 6th is 1600. We could probably come up with something that wouldn't break the bank to trade with Tampa. They really don't need another WR, but will feel forced to take the obvious best player on the board unless they have a reason not to. That could be a senario that the skins would explore if they really are not happy with the defensive players available that high and they can't trade down for more picks.
Schneed10 03-20-2007, 04:44 PM This thread has snowballed out of control. It's like a few people on here got excited about an offense with CJ, started describing the possibilities, a few more people read those posts, they got excited, and before you know it people are actually thinking it's a good idea to trade up to get him.
If he fell to us at #6, I can see the logic in refusing to pass up on him. But trading up? Guys, this is a team sport. One player does not a team make.
We need multiple talented players.
CJ seems like an unbelievable prospect. But what if we traded down and acquired a 2nd and a 3rd rounder? People are getting all excited about CJ, but seem to be forgetting that a 2nd or 3rd round pick can turn into a Guard who ends up to be the next Steve Hutchinson.
Hell, Clinton Portis was a 2nd rounder.
CJ isn't the only stud out there this year. We just have to be shrewd, do our homework, and unearth the gems.
GiantsSuck703 03-20-2007, 04:48 PM CJ is a sweet player, and any team that lands him is going to immediately improve. I would love the skins to draft him, but we cant in our current situation. The only thing Im hoping for is that another NFC East team doesnt make the move to land him themselves...
Why not? do you think we have a realistic shot at the superbowl next season? I think we could wait until 08' when we have a near handful of draft picks, or we could just trade springs for a 2nd or 3rd and draft quinton moses, he is dropping big time and i wouldnt be suprised if he ends up in the 4th-5th round.
GiantsSuck703 03-20-2007, 04:50 PM I don't know about you guys but it seems like the stupidity of trading up to get C.J. is more like a Steve Spurrier move rather than a Joe Gibbs move if you ask me.
I say draft him if he falls, but we cant trade up, thats a horrible idea, he is a hell of a player, but we will have to give up picks next year to move up and i dont see the point in that.
skinsfan242 03-20-2007, 04:52 PM Why would we ever trade up??? It makes no sense. Just let Detroit take him so he won't affect anything, he will be stuck in Detroit. If they do, Quinn or Peterson will slip down to six and our pick will become very valuable to trade down. We can still get a great player, maybe L. Landry at 8 and a DE at 40. Or Amobi at 8 and Grubbs at 40.

thats cause Denver is good at spotting RB talent, I cant believe all the people in here debating if CJ is going to be good, this is a cant miss, and i be damn if the Buc's will let us get a player that could torch there ass this year in a reg. season game,.........PLEASE LETS NOT BE FOOLISH HERE! CJ is pro ready, and he will open up so many opportunities for JC and the Al Saunders Offense, remember before the Colts won the SuperBowl they were a great offensive, before the Defensive became solid, but they were always in the run for the playoffs, if we dont get him.........this will be a sad day in Draft history!!!!

wow, yeah, trading up = bad. CJ (chad johnson) was a 2nd round pick, and steve smith went in the 3rd. it' really hard to have too many weapons, but breaking the bank for anyone that's not a franchise QB or a dire need would be silly. there's no julius peppers to trade up for, but there is a LOT of DL talent between picks 6 and 15 we could use.
