where are all the people that say the redskins need a gm? i cant believe they pulled this off. getting something in return and dumping that big salary was some good work by the boys in the front office
A GM with stones would have challenged Gre-double GG's idea of taking a strong safety enforcer and converting him to a free safety coverage guy. That's a risk all by itself. The only way that move makes any sense is if the Redskins thought Sean Taylor would have a new Dade County address last season. That was a 50-50 proposition at the time.
But, selecting players by name recognition, poor concepts of roster fits, over-paying for one player when you might have signed three good role players, and dumping a guy who will likely start for a Super Bowl caliber defense for a sixth round draft choice are evidence of the need for a good, strong general manager. The whole crappy deal is on the front office, not Archuleta.

Adam got alot of heat from the media and skins fans. Arch is a private and quit guy. I got to meet him at fedex last year and I asked him how he has taken everything and his reply was I will continue to work hard and play hard because that's who I am. Generic yes but a soft spoken guy. None of us would complain one bit if we looked for a new job and the company said here is 25 mill go to work. More then likley we could care less what anyone has to say we would sit back and watch our money pile up. Let's just wish him luck and by the way PRO BOWL 2008 you heard it here first

Anyone else hear his comments on Washington Post Live (http://midatlantic.comcastsportsnet.com/shows-WPL.asp)yesterday?
I caught a little bit of it this morning on Sportsrise and he didn't trash the Skins as much as some players in the past have (maybe it was because he was on a DC show). The website for the show doesn't have the audio of the interview, but it does have a hot second of Springs talking about AA but it's nothing we haven't hear.
Arch basically said that last year he "hit rock bottom" and he hopes to learn and grow from it. He also said he wouldn't speak about his time in DC too much more, but who knows how much of that is true. He said it was true that some coaches didn't speak to him for half the season, but he didn't specify which coaches.
Maybe he was trying to cover his ass because he was the ESPN article source, or maybe he really just feels like he had a terrible season and a clean and clear break is the best thing for everyone.

what is it going to say for Greg Williams if archeluta goes out and has a monster season for the bears? coaches are supposed to put players in a position to succeed

this morning came WAY too quick. Stupid good OSU-Tenn game last night. Good morning nonetheless.
