no ban at all..........just cause someone get a little heated that doesnt mean, throw them out........but he does make a good point about........puppets, a mod say something and everyone is like............yea, yes, your right, good point................uh huh?

Or could it be that the mods around here are some of the reasonable people and all the other reasonable people tend to agree with what they say?

It could be that, and it could also be that when people do disagree with the mods like reasonable adults no one makes a big deal out of the argument. It's when people start verbally attacking other people for their differing opinions that problems arise.

I think Woop brings a good point, as there is signifigant ass kissin', and bandwagon jumpin' from time to time with regard to the mods, and whatever the popular school of thought might be(IMO). Frequently the dissenters to that view are treated................hmmm , uncharitably. However, it is a board for discussion, and feelings WILL get hurt as YOUR particular position is trashed, and re-hashed.
It could be attributed to the more reasonable point of view being ratified by the rank and file?
All in all, I think the mods do a pretty good job. The board is maintained well, and enjoyable to particiapate in. That is especially true considering the BS that goes on with the many similar sites.

I think people tend to forget that moderator or not, we have our own opinions and we like to discuss the Skins just like everyone else. We're not immune to having heated discussions or disagreements just like everyone else, and I think sometimes we're unfairly held to a higher standard. Yes we do represent the board but wearing multiple hats is difficult sometimes and I don't think people always appreciate that.

i am not sure what goes on at other boards. but here, it seems like this board self regulates. when someone gets out of line, its not uncommon for one of the members to say something, call for a thread to be locked, or yell for one of the mods.maybe we just have a good bunch of people that all follow the redskins

I totally agree on this. It seems everyone wants to think of the mods as just admins who patroll the site without participating. Indeed a lot of boards are like that. The mods are there just to keep control of things. But here the mods actually participate and I think it is a model of the way a board should work. All of our mods are consistent contributors to discussion. In fact they are often primary drivers of discussion. It is only natural for their opinions to spread throughout the board. I agree with our mods in general a lot because not a one of them seems to over react to a situation or speak out of ignorance. I think a lot of people do.

And if anyone really thinks that dissenting opinions get trashed around here then they need to step back and look(they should also take a look at some other boards). Often time the dissenting opinions aren't trashed as mush as they are argued against by numerous people. Just becuase one person has an idea that 10 people vocally disagree with doesn't mean they are getting trashed. They are usually getting educated.

It's all semantics, FRPLG. I basically agree with you, Mk, and Dmec (in a non-band wagon way). Just stating my opinion.

I don't see much ass kissing going on or people changing their views to fall in line with the mods. It's impossible to get all of the mods to agree on any single issue since we all have such different outlooks on the team. I've disagreed with Matty, Smootsmack, Brud, and every other mod more than once. So, I think it's impossible for people to "fall in line" when the mods have such disparate views themselves.
