Focusing on the large muscle groups will help increase your muscle mass. The larger the muscle, the more weight you will gain. I went from 120lbs to 170 lbs in 4 years without paying any attention to diet or taking a single supplement or drinking some protein shake. Just simple weight training with the purpose of developing the muscles, special emphasis on the shoulders, upper chest, triceps and lats. 8 years later with minimal weight lifting, I still weigh 170 lbs at age 32.

I was about 5'10" and 165 lbs. at 23. I did a lot of lifting, was doing 700 push-ups a day, and ate like a madman. I couldn't do anything to get to my target weight of 185.

Now, at 27 (28 in May), I'm about 190. I think it's a matter of metabolism slowing down. Now, instead of trying to gain weight, I'm trying to lose 5 pounds and I have to watch what I eat (no more fast food 2 days in a row). In about a year, I expect you'll be in the same boat.

damn 700? i can barely do 20 hahahaha,, i used to lift at the gym but they didnt have free weights only the machines from which i've heard they are not that great but yea i did that for about 3 -4 months 2 hours a day 4 days a week and not much improvment

I'm 5'6" and GET READY...115 pounds. I eat like Rosie O'Donnell, list weights and work a lot. I have great muscle tone but can't gain weight because my metabolism is INSANELY fast. I have to eat like every 2 hours because I'm hungry again. I wish my metabolism would slow down. I'll be 28 in May!

I eat a lot but I eat healthy too, I haven't had fast food burgers since college (20-21) and gave up sodas pretty much. I've tried weight gainers, protein shakes with milk, cookies made with molasses, brown sugar and creatine instead of flour (probably a few hundred calories each, ha). Nothing.

My dad was skinny too, but when he went in the Army at like age 20-21, he bulked up and went from 125 to about 165.

Anyone have ANY suggestions? I'm in good shape and don't want to be a couch potato, but would love to gain 20 pounds, or even 10.

I mentioned this in the other thread..but anyone ever tried NO Explode...I was using Amped for awhile and I wondered what anyone though. I took too much the first time I took it and felt like I could have killed a bear with my bare hands

Sounds like a good time. :)

yea thats what i heard that i should break down my meals to 6 a day or something like a meal every 3 hours,, but another thing is what exactly do u eat to get all the carbs and protein that u need? like what are the best foods for that..

I eat a lot of chicken, whole grain bread, milk, fruit, vegetables...um, fish, Go Lean cereal is good...not the crunch though, it will give you gas from hell...that kind of stuff...2 protein shakes a day as well
