Sheriff Gonna Getcha 04-01-2007, 10:34 PM Looks like a cross between "Independence Day" and "Wild, Wild West".
No thanks.
Independence Day was not an alright movie, which is a big compliment for a Michael Bay Film. Wild, Wild West was simply awful. I'm hoping Spielberg makes the film a little better than your typical Michael Bay film. I just can't see Spielberg attaching his name to an awful movie.
djnemo65 04-02-2007, 02:08 AM If it wasn't for Spielberg being on board I would be totally incredulous about this one. Still, Michael Bay really worries me. The only film of his I have liked was the Rock. That was cool. Other than that, one could make a strong argument for him as the worst director of his generation.
But if this is a success, there will be good things in our future. Remember when X-Men hit, and suddenly every superhero was getting his own movie? (alot of stinkers, but Spiderman has become one of the great blockbuster franchises). Well, if transformers is a success get ready for Thundercats in 2009, the GI Joe trilogy starting in 2010, and a darker version of He-Man directed by David Fincher. How great would that be?

MonkFan4Life 04-04-2007, 03:44 PM Oh my inner nerd is creeping back out. He came out when Star Wars III came out and he's been locked away waiting patiently. I am SO F'N AMPED TO SEE THIS. When I first saw that Tyrese was in it I thought it was going to suck badly but then I saw the trailer, and even he can't mess this movie up for me. Actually Tyrese isn't all that bad, he's getting better. The trailers have me geeked out to see the movie. I'll be in line on the 4th !
The trailer has me interested. I probably won't go see it in the theater, but it might be worth a look when it comes out on DVD.
