What's annoyed me about the comments on this trade has been that people (including in this article) are saying the deal is in the Bears favor.
Despite what any draft point system says, on paper this is a really good deal for us, we get 2 players & they get 1.

However, I'm worried about this deal for team chemistry & cap reasons. If we throw in another player, this deal doesn't even look good on paper.

I hope Denver's signing Bly doesn't bust their cap space to the point that they don't want the #6 anymore. They have the picks to offer.

I'm more amazed at how many different threads about the same topic can get past 2 and 3 pgs so easily.

This topic has been beaten into the ground. Isn't there something else to talk about? It's Masters week.

That's true, but also think of what we're TRASHING (2 2nd rounders) by basically giving up on Rocky.

Rocky, Lemar, Golston- either way it stinks. And it's repeating our pattern of ignoring the value of the draft.

If we ship off Rocky, we're never even giving a guy we traded THREE picks to get a chance to showcase his skills as a starter. We gave the Jets our 2nd rounder last year (53rd overall), plus our 2nd and 6th rounders this year. So that would be giving up on a player AND FOUR DRAFT PICKS (I'm counting our 6th overall this year) before we even give him a shot to really play. Lunacy.

If we ship off Golston we are getting rid of yet another draft pick who ended up being somewhat of a steal. He played well when Salave'a got hurt, and ummm hello, we DESPERATELY need help on the D-line!! So including the 6th pick there are two more draft picks down the drain.

If we ship off Lemar, were are losing a leader who will provide valuable depth at both OLB and MLB, and he's a "core redskin" according to Joe. This would definitely not sit well in the locker room- trading him away to bring in a guy who refuses to go play for the defending NFC champs and a world class defense for $7M a year.

If this trade happens, Joe Gibbs owes it to the fans to have a Q & A session so we can find out where he gets crack. This is sickening. Another case of a FA wanting to come play for the Danny and get paid. I knew that week in Arizona was gonna be bad for us.

Obviously the Bears know we have an inept FO, so they're going to try to get as much out of us as possible.

agreed, I don't want the 1st Briggs deal, but I think it is a good value. Adding another player really negates the value of the deal, and as you mention we'd still have the chemistry issue w/bringing in a guy w/20 mil guaranteed.

I'm lucky enough to live in titletown USA (Gainesville, Fl), and my Gators are going for their 3rd NCAA championship in the last 12 months tonight. It takes some sting of the constant woes of the Skins organization. Unfortunately I often get mistaken for a Seminole with all the Redskins stuff I'm always wearing.

If they want Rocky or Golston i'd say screw it. Thats way too much. I'd be ok with parting ways with Marshall. They should of used Arch in this scenario a few weeks ago. Oh well. Another day in the life of a Redskins soap opera we call the offseason.

The Skins need to let Rocky and Goldston have another year or two to make their presence felt. Why trade away two young and relatively cheap players who still have the upside of their careers left?

Well, Adam Schefter from NFL Network is reporting that the Redskins will NOT offer up a player in addition to the 6th overall pick. It's a take it or leave it deal from their end.
