This is not a legit rumor, just my opinion. I believe that the Falcons are letting out rumors that they want to trade up to get the #2 pick not because they actually want Johnson, but because Tampa Bay wants Johnson. Tampa is in their division, and they will probably land Johnson if they stay put at number 4. So I believe that the Falcons are trying to scare the Bucs into trading up for a player that they would probably get anyways which would lose the Bucs talent, and make a higher cap hit by taking the number 2 instead of the number 4 hit. Hurting the Bucs is good for their division rival Dirty Birds.

If it worked, it would be a very shrewd move.

I wouldn't put it passed them. Once again, someone utilizing an actual intelluctual thought thought process. I like it!

One big problem, Johnson ain't getting past #2 regardless of team selecting, so if Tampa want's him they will have to move up, Detroit has a boat load of offers if they deciede they don't want Johnson, as far as Atlanta pushing into the mix it's irrelevant.

I don't know about that. He is perceived as the best player in the draft. I am not convinced that Junior Soprano (aka Al Davis) will let him slip past #1.

who would be the last receiver that probably should have drafted that high? maybe randy moss, and he went in the 10-15 range. Johnson has no where near that kind of talent

Well, Randy Moss is probably the most gifted receiver in the history of the NFL so being mentioned in the same breath ain't too bad.

Moss dropped because of character reasons though
