RobH4413 05-12-2007, 02:21 AM How did this thread make it this long. The guy suggests trading Taylor for Briggs and then talks about a D end. Talk about ADD, he couldn't even maintain the same thought throughout a sentence.
As far as Schneeds rant. Isn't it hypocritical to state that this site is a step above others and criticize others posts for being below standard and then drop about 20 f-bombs? Chill out.
Btw. It appears that I am on the same boat as every columnist at the Post regarding Taylor's situation.
I hope the Warpath is ready for "I told you so"...
Let's be easy slugger. Shneed has given a great deal to this site. He lost his cool for a second, but I'm one to speak for him and say that he didn't go postal. He apologized, and in my opinon he's forgiven. This is the first I've seen him ever lost any kind of composure.
Your not the moral hierarchy of the situation. You've lost your cool before, and you're no one to judge.
Yeah, your're probable right about the Taylor contract. Kudos to you. I've been right before, and so have many others, we don't go out of our way to wave the "I'm right" flag around. But props to you. Congrats. Enjoy your glory.
Rajmahal33 05-12-2007, 02:26 AM Hey, I am irritated with Taylor. Our team was 5-11, we don't need more BS. As for cluttering the boards, I personally have not seen enough on the boards, lately. At least we all had an opinion, and it generated some excitement. I know Joe Gibbs, he does not take this sort of thing lately. If he pushes it to far, he will never play for him again. At that point, he will have to be traded. Sorry, if I offended anyone.
Uh, i think u meant LIGHTLY, gibbs doesn't take this sort of thing lightly. If that was your point it is a semi-valid one. The Gibbs-Taylor friction has been well-documented since Gibb's took over. Basically Gibbs' only ultimatum to the team has been not to embarrass the group as a whole. Now while I do love Taylor, he has broken this rule repeatedly and handled himself in a very UN-redskinlike way. From the gun charges to the numerous fines AND the spitting incident, the guy's behavior is just like his play...with total reckless abandon. This OTA situation specifically may not be anything, but the overall issue is that he and the team are constantly bumping heads, the latest of which is a money thing. I honestly think that the best way to get through to him is through Snyder. Give him a big paycheck with many provisions for behavior and attendance. U know, make it so that if he wants to see that money he will have to be on his best behavior.
Schneed, i feel where u are coming from, though i don't condone ur temporary lapse in judgment to drop those F-bombs.
vaoutlaws2006 05-12-2007, 05:43 AM ridiculous....i would take one sean taylor over 10 lance briggs. briggs is only as good as the people around him.
DGreen28 05-12-2007, 07:56 AM Taylor is the best defensive player we have. This is the dumbest idea ever.
Schneed10 05-12-2007, 07:59 AM Schneed, i feel where u are coming from, though i don't condone ur temporary lapse in judgment to drop those F-bombs.
Yeah, to all those getting on me regarding the profanity, I feel where you're coming from, and I've already laid down a sincere apology to TO Killa (go back and read post 51). I don't feel the need to apologize again, it's already been said, I'm just going to get back to keeping my cool like I generally have around here for two plus years now.
This is a great site because over the years, members have taken it upon themselves to make this a site for educated discussion. I think we can all agree that we enjoy valid threads that make us think about the team and also serve to educate. I think most of us here would prefer that kind of thread over impossible trade proposals.
I think I've pretty much said my peace on the subject and am ready to let it drop. But collectively, let's not lay it all on the mods to keep this place a haven for quality discussion. Let's take it upon ourselves to have knowledgeable discussions.
DiehardSkin88 05-12-2007, 08:37 AM crackers
#56fanatic 05-12-2007, 08:53 AM are you serious? LB's are a dime a dozen..while i was all over the draft trade rumor involving Briggs, this idea is complete craziness. no way you give up one of the top 3 or 5 safeties in the league for a LB. who ever did that should be fired immediately
diehardskin2982 05-12-2007, 08:56 AM wow what a horrible sugestion!
skinsguy 05-12-2007, 09:19 AM I just took one look at the thread title and knew this wasn't going to be a very bright idea. Dude, I understand we all have our own opinions about our Redskins players, but Taylor has so far proved to be a bigger asset to us than a liability. Sure, he been caught out of position a few times, and has drawn a few senseless personal foul penalties, but he has also made some great plays for us as well. To me, giving up Taylor would be about as smart as trading Campbell for Jeff George.
hooskins 05-12-2007, 09:24 AM Stop, with every post you annoy me more and more. You obviously know nothing about the game of football, first of all hes our best defensive player and hes 24 years old, who will replace him? We have absolutely no need for Briggs, you dont even know how good he is until he gets away from Chicago, much in the same way as Jeremiah Trotter, remember that disaster. So cut it out, hes not disrupting the team, Gibbs made the workouts voluntary, if he wants to complain about people not showing up, then he should have made the workouts mandatory. I mean its the offseason, this is there time off from work, I dont blame them for not showing up, if i was on vacation and my boss called me to come back to work, I would be pissed.
Thank you Grim, I actually am on the supporting side of one of your rants.
