Man I was only 2 when this game came out

Any updates? I know SS and I are trying to get our game in tonight...

It was a video game that came out in 1991 for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. It had real NFL teams and rosters, and was the first video game that kept stats of your players' performance throughout the season.

I was 12 when it came out, so I was in prime video-game mode, and grew up playing this game. I think the same can be said for lots of the guys here on the Warpath. The game has a bit of a cult following. Madden is the NFL video game that's talked about a ton these days, and it's truly great. But this Tecmo Super Bowl game preceded Madden. Game-play was very simple, but crazy fun.

So Matty hooked us up with a way to play the game against each other, online, using our PCs instead of the Nintendo & TV.

The coolest thing? That 1991 season was the year the Skins won the SB, of course. So the 1991 roster is forever memorialized within the game. Want to relive Rypien to Clark, Monk, and Sanders? Best way is through this game.

Well I just got smoked by BDBohnzie. First game was U-G-L-Y Ugly. And I ain't got no alibi. I could have scored 50 more points...and still lost

Second game was close until two big plays in the final two minutes

I'd imagine it's a bad omen when the first play of the game is a safety, after it froze for like 10 seconds...then following the kickoff, the next play goes for about 60 yards for a score...

But the great thing about the game is the learning curve is nil, and your game ultimately improved from the 1st game to the next. I was just fortunate to hunker down and play some D in the 2nd half of the 2nd game. You had the lead going into the 4th, take away those 2 big plays and I'm sunk.

I totally forgot how gadawful the Giants playbook was...I have to remember to switch the plays beforehand.
