I also dont think I am being pessemistic and frankly what has this team done in the last 15 years to make me optimistic. I believe I give credit where its due and negative comments when thats called for.

I agree that JC has more experience than the QBs Smoot mentiones but the problem JC faces is that his team is not a legit playoff contender or even expected by most to finish with a winning record. The teams Smoot mentions were all legit playoff contenders and the Rams in particular were picked by some to win the Super Bowl.

I hope JC kicks butt but its a team game and right now he's not on a great team.

What happened 10-15 years ago really doesn't have any effect on this year though. It would be much more realistic to look at the past 2-3 years. In Gibbs 2.0 yes the team is below .500 overall, but on the positive end there also was a playoff appearance and a 10-6 season.

We made it to the second round of the playoffs two years ago, which is more than A LOT of teams have done. We do have what it takes.. I just think it takes time. The fans around here have such high standards. I'm not saying that's wrong, but there will be times when things are going our way and times they are not. It happens to EVERY team. There are teams that have never seen the Super Bowl. Be lucky you aren't their fans. Being able to watch players like ST, Portis, ARL, and Moss I think is a privilege. I get excited just thinking about what they are going to do out there. We don't always win, but there is almost ALWAYS a good show from someone. It's not boring!!!! HAIL! J

The Rams, who were 4-12 the previous year and had just lost prized free agent QB to a torn ACL were picked by people beyond their fans to win the Super Bowl? I must have missed that

I don't believe you give credit where it's due for this team. But that's another discussion for another day, if ever

All I can say is I travel a lot for work and when the the conversation turns to football and I mention I am a Redskins fan people just laugh and shake thier head. None of these people work for the anti-redskin media or have any other anti-redskin bias but they are knowledgeable footall fans. They think for the past 15 years the redskins have been a joke and Gibbs 2.0 is just more of the same. The notion that the redskins are a contender or even a decent team is ridiculous to them. Hopefully they will be proven wrong soon.

High standards? What are you talking about? This team has 2 playoff appearances in 15 years. They are trolling down in Saints & Cards country yet the fans keep buying tickets and merchandise like the team has won 3 super bowls in a row. If you ask me the fans around here have incredibly low standards to keep putting up with this crap instead of voicing their disgust with how low this organization sunk.

IMO anyone with high standards for the redskins (that they continually fail to meet) who points out that the skins are not cutting it is labeled as negative.

C'mon that happens with everyone. Anytime someone mentions their favorite team to me unless it's the Skins I'll give them shit. Or unless it's the Patriots, but that's about the only team that's beyond poking fun at.

Even then, who cares about what happened 10 years ago? That was before Snyder even. It's irrelevant.

Whenever someone pokes fun at the Skins with me I'll say who's your team, and unless it's the Patriots or Colts the best response is yeah well when did your team win the SB last?

Yeah must have been Rams fans talking, cause I don't ever remember the Rams getting any hype before they won that SB. In fact they were one of the true jokes of the NFL at that time.

It's got nothing to do with standards, it's just a very loyal fan base who are willing to stick by their team through thick and thin. That doesn't mean we're happy with losing or have even accepted it. The Skins are our team no matter what, end of story.
