KLHJ2 08-31-2007, 12:32 AM Don't worry, it won't happen, Toyota is the shit of nascar. Toyota might be able to drop the MPG though...LOL.
Wait and see. In about 5 years Pontiac, Dodge, and Ford will all be scratching their heads.

Well, Pontiac doesn't even race anymore, so they are already scratching. LOL.
Chevy is dominant, and will be for quite some time.
IF, and that's a huge if, Toyota gets it right in 5 years, then everyone will switch and JGR will have suffered as a guinea pig while Hendrick wins the whole thing!

Thanks for the Pontiac insight. I guess that is who TOYOTA replaced? I doubt that JGR will suffer, they will be competative. Each year other teams will follow.

Yeah.
JGR will suffer cause Toyota hasn't figured out how to win yet. Gibbs made this decision too early.
I for one am extremely happy...this mean Tony Stewart will suck next year!!! SWEET!

All I could do was laugh and shake my head at that. I highly doubt that JGR will be completely out of it. As far as TOYOTA not knowing how to win yet, JGR will fix that.

Well, we'll see.
It took Toyota 3 or 4 years to get good in Truck racing, so I am assuming it will take that long here too.
Toyota this year is downright awful, they need a couple more year at least. JGR isn't a miracle worker.
SmootSmack 09-04-2007, 04:18 PM Yeley isn't bad. It's just that he's not a championship caliber driver (not yet at least) and teams like JGR, Hendricks, those teams expect championship caliber drivers at the highest level of stock car racing.
Yeley belongs on a smaller team with lower expectations such as Woods Brothers Racing (as is currently rumored), or Hall of Fame Racing (as previously rumored).
Hall of Fame Racing it is

BDBohnzie 09-05-2007, 09:46 AM I'm not too fond of this switch to Toyota by JGR. However, I have confidence in the guys driving the #s 20, 11, and 18, and if anyone can make a push for Toyota, it's JGR. I don't think they'd make this kind of deal without knowing what they were getting into...once one of these guys wins the Cup, it'll be cup by 3 different engine manufacturers (Pontiac, Chevy, Toyota) for JGR.
SmootSmack 09-05-2007, 10:33 AM Well the bottom line is that JGR wants to be the top team for whatever manufacturer they use. With Hendrick Motorsports, and even Richard Childress Racing, he wasn't going to get that with Chevrolet. At Toyota, JGR will be the unquestioned top dog.
I wonder what the Pit Pirate has to say about this

I'm listening Live now.
In Gibbs I trust.
I drive a Jeep and an Isuzu Pickup so I don't have that big of loyalty to GM. My first fear was that of the unknown.
They'll win races still
Thanks for thinking of me.
