hesscl34 08-13-2007, 04:04 PM I know, but I'll lose with a smile if it's because no one throws at him.
I will too, if that's the case!! ..... Where was Smoot? I didn't see him at all?
GTripp0012 08-13-2007, 04:06 PM I was just about to post that very statement, nice job.
Blades is bigger than I thought he was much more stout, but I think he will bring the same instinct to MLB position that Fletcher brings, but he is probably not as fast as Fletcher, at least earlier in his career, but I think he will prove to be a tremendous pick when it is all said and done.I think the team has done an outstanding job of second day drafting the past few years. Not that I'd want to hitch my defense to the quick development of Golston and Mongomery, but when in two seasons you can produce 2 DTs, 2 LBs, a TE, and a solid backup QB from picks later than the 4th round, I think that really says a lot of good things about your scouting department.
I have nothing but good things to say about this team's college scouting department compared to the rest of the leagues' (generally awful). It's the pro scouting department on this team that puts this franchise in such a big hole.
offiss 08-13-2007, 05:05 PM the same thing i think is gonna happen as it did in 04 and 05. the D will be be the life of this team and the o will be inconsistent.
I have had that same thought in my mind, I think we could see a repeat of 2005, I like Campbell [I love him compared to Brunell] but I just don't know about our O-line, it could be a real problem with Campbell running for his life quite a bit this season.
CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 08-13-2007, 09:24 PM defense did good. but lets not get carried away. tenn doesnt have any top nfl WR's. K Collins stinks. We went against their second team QB. We will find out Sat.
hesscl34 08-13-2007, 11:21 PM What was the problem there? Jansen missed a few blocks that got Jason Pressured a few times. That worries me because I was hoping that was the side that was strong. I hope they can sure up the left side with Wade and Samuels playing together. The Rookie looked ok, but I don't think I would have left Jason in there that long to take a beating from the Rook getting burned.
Oh and Brunnel LOOKED AWFUL!!! I used to like the guy but he got old fast.
This is being talked about in a different thread, but it concerns me that JC was so easily attacked, and that he over threw a few throws, AND that he didn't protect the ball more. If you see a guy coming for you, fold and duck.. don't throw into no man's land and then fight for your life. I know this is a growing stage for him, but it bothered me. I think we are missing something there. JC is our guy and he needs time but he also needs to understand when to fold and protect. He's going to get killed if he keeps up with what he was doing. Most importanly it's up to our O line to not let a guy have a shot at JC like they did so many times. Our O line needs to be ON!!! They were not.. period.

You should refer back to my "high expectations" thread.... This is what I was talking about... All teams need time to grow and gel, some of us here expect the BEST all of the time and that is just not reality.

Who's the solid back up QB? I thought we had Brunell.

Well they been growing and gelling for 4 years now.
I just don't see a big time line in front of Campbell, Jansen is getting beat in pre-season, and he was beat quite a bit last season as well, Samuels will sure up the tackle position, which brings us to Wade who is a big question mark, this line is adequet at best IMO, regardless of how much they gel.
