Does anyone really want to wait that long? I don't understand why everyone thinks this guy is the bees knees. He can enjoy his etirement as far as I'm concerned. Cowell 09-04-2007, 10:18 AM Just because he didn't win a Superbowl for awhile doesn't mean he was a bad coach. The Steelers were almost always in contention during his coaching stint. skinsfan69 09-04-2007, 11:15 AM I can see him coaching the Browns, Cowboys, or Redskins in a couple few years. I don't see him coming here at all. He is going to want to run a 3-4 and we don't have the personel to run it. Plus he is going to want full control and he is not going to get it here. Clev. would be perfect. Cowell 09-05-2007, 10:30 AM I think if we kept Marshall we would have the personnel for a 3-4 defense. MTK 09-05-2007, 10:37 AM You need more than just another LB for the 3-4. What we're lacking for a 3-4 right now is a true nose tackle and two sturdy DEs. Either way, if Cowher came here and wanted to run the 3-4, he would just need to get his own personnel in here. sandtrapjack 09-05-2007, 01:41 PM It took Cowher 14 years to win a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh. True but 10 of those 14 years were playoff appearances. And there is not another coach in the league who can boast that stat. And that is why he will be highy recruited. Sure he only won one Super Bowl, but playoffs in 10 of 14 ain't bad at all. Monkeydad 09-05-2007, 03:07 PM I can see him coaching the Browns, Cowboys, or Redskins in a couple few years. Sure, he'd coach the team (Browns) that was his former team's biggest rival and whose fans probably said some nasty stuff about him over the years. I'd replace Cleveland with Carolina, because didn't he retire to move to NC to be with his family? This would keep him in the same place his family lives. I wouldn't discount Tampa. Although they probably will look for the anti-Gruden next Cowell 09-05-2007, 07:32 PM I personally think that Tampa Bay is going to be decent this year. Better than Carolina atleast. IMO if Cowher was going to any team in the near future it would probably be Carolina just noting on how ever since their Super Bowl appearance they have been on a decline. |
