AMD my mom and GF have done that too.
The coin thing? That would make sense because my mom bought it for me when I was in high school.
Oh yeah, I've also had a giant plastic beer bottle that I've been filling with bottle caps since I was in college. I might need a new one soon. I want to use the caps to cover a coffee table, but I'm not that industrious.

I actually do not collect a single thing.
I like to collect Redskins memorabillia for my Skins room. Someday I want to have an entire finished basement with a bar, pool table, dart board, giant flat screen, and leather couches... basically my very own Redskins bar. Totally decked out from floor to ceiling with Redskins stuff. :)

I have a Red Sox room with an autographed baseball from every Red Sox player that started in the 2004 series. I have autographed pictures, an autographed Jim Rice jersey, 24k gold baseball cards from danbury mint, a 2004 team picture, and a 1918 team picture, and all sorts of things. I don't consider it to be collecting anymore cause it's done. But every Red Sox fan in the country would be envious of this room.
