Your final win/loss prediction for 2007

My position on the defense has not changed from a month ago. I still worry about this unit. What the preseason has shown is encouraging, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. The pass defense will definately improve though (with 100% certainty).

There's no way the defense won't be better than last year. I'm thinking we're going to see a huge statiscal jump as well. They're faster and frankly, a little more stout in the middle.

You never say never, but I just don't see Rogers dropping that many ints this year, and for the most part he was usually in position to make a play on the ball. Yeah, we'll be good on that side of the ball.

While I do not feel we will rival the Ravens, I feel our LB's get better, and our Secondary is twice, if not 3 times better than it was last year. Sure our up front 4 is weak, but with a strong secondary, and good lb's coupled with a healthy front 4, we should be a 5-10 defense this year.Pass D will be much improved. I think the run defense will significantly improve. How do you figure we'll regress from what 31 or 32? Just London Flethcher's presence alone is worth a few more tackles behind the line of scrimage.

Well, I respect that opinion, but I feel you're not understanding the significance of the LB play. Fletcher is a run stopping machine. With a completely renovated secondary, that will free up the LB's to do more blitzes and shy closer to line, while last year we needed every man, including the sideline judges to try to stop the pass.
I agree our run defense will be our biggest issue on the D, but it will amaze you to see how much better they will get BECAUSE the secondary is fixed.
If we're sitting at 18-22, Williams needs to be fired.

That commercial sure is goofy, but it makes me want a Snickers. And it makes me want someone to sing me a song while I eat it.

It also makes me think about going tubing on a river of caramel.

I think we're going to measure up real well in run defense, frankly. Golston has put on weight, and our LBs are light years better than they were last season. Rocky is the real deal, and there's a reason Fletcher has the most tackles in the NFL over the last 6 years. Dude has a nose for the ball and is great at fighting through and avoiding blockers.

For me, run defense was the biggest question mark at the end of our season last year, but now I'm fully convinced it's fixed. Conversely, I felt great about the offensive line's ability to run block at the end of last season, and right now I see that as our biggest question mark. Kendall needs to get up to speed and on the same page in a hurry.

I'm still very skeptical about our o-line, but I think we'll be able to pull out 9 wins. We're in a tough division... so I think we sneak into the wild card in the final game vs. Dallas.
