Sounds very versatile too. Can play either DE or Tackle and doesn't care which as long as we win. Sounds like the type of player we need on this team!
And since Blache already knows what he can do, that's just an added bonus. And we wouldn't have gone after him if Blache didn't think he could get the job done.

Although he sounds like a good, solid rotation guy to team with R. Wynn on one side (opposite J. Kearse...

I think it's kinda odd when a DE makes more million in salary than sacks he has when starting all 16 games...

Daniels is set to make 3 Million this year, and last year had a whopping 2.5 sacks.

Again.. he's a solid pick up, BUT... he's in his 30's and had his worst season last year under our current DC. Just debating the 3 million that's all.

Maybe that had something to with how he was utilized in the D. Bouncing position to position won't help your play much. When he started at one position, sounded like he did a great job.

I didn't know too much about him but I have a few friends that are bears fans and they spoke highly of his heart and said he has some skills at D end and D tackle

Check out this quote from Gibbs on Daniels:

Said head coach Joe Gibbs: “Phillip is someone who is very versatile—he can play all the way across the board. He’s the right kind of person, which is very important. As soon as it came across that we could talk to him, he was the first guy we wanted to get on the plane and get him here.”

A high character guy ... par for the course for JG.

He could end up playing DT, but what i like about this pickup is that the DLine is being completely rebuilt, not just patched up.

With GWilliams here tho, like it or not, I think signing Kearse is practically a done-deal. I'd be surprised if we don't sign him at this point- and early.

And while i'm not sold that he'll be worth the money, there's a great chance he could return to form w/ a new team. Especially with some help around him like Wistrom or CGriffin.

I heard that Wistrom is almost certainly going to KC. He could be the Chiefs' "first day signing".

Has anyone heard the actual amount the contract is worth? I've only read that its five years in length and I find it hard to believe his price is anywhere near the $3 million mark like another member posting seemed to believe. that was the salary he was to make before being cut and the skins aren't picking up his old contract if I'm not mistaken. Who do you guys wish we go for as our pass rusher: Kearse or Barry? I don't know anything about barry except that someone posted that he had 11.5 sacks last year. anyone know his age, height, weight, reported work habit, and his injury record?
