I think the extension is all but complete isn't it? jsarno 09-17-2007, 12:14 AM I think the extension is all but complete isn't it? Yes it is, and I am sure the reason it was done right now was to give Belicheat a "bonus" to pay for the fine. F...the patriots! (http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2007/09/can-patriots-co.html) wow!!!! over the mountain 09-18-2007, 01:11 PM what really gets my goat hairs is the way in which belichick went about handling this whole thing. He tried to down play it by calling it a "video-taping routine" or something along those lines then said he had a different interpretation of the rules. After that he wouldnt talk about it further. This arrogant brush-off of any accountability or mis-doing on his part shows what a calculated jerk he is. It also tells me he did it alot before and he will continue to do whatever is necessary to gain an advantage, unfair or not. When compared to vick's situation, goddell went soft on belichick. Vick's biggest problem with the league was not the actual act of dog fighting but his lying statement saying he had no knowledge or involvement with the situation in his investigation by the league. In belichick's case he was warned last year by the league so any future violations should not be treated as a mis-interpretation or that belichick didnt have notice. I would love to know if Belichick had to give a statement to the league BEFORE the league showed and briefed him on the evidence against him. PS - for a good laugh go to the pat's fan forums and see their convoluted-homer view of this whole thing. I don't think Vick lying to Godell was that big of an issue because how could he have admitted dog fighting to Godell when he had not even been charged with any crime? How could he have told Godell and then got fine/punished and fought his case in court? Belichick broke the rules not the law. alanster5678 09-20-2007, 02:37 PM Public flogging? -> thepatriotgames.com A stadium full of black towels is fairly public! |
