Sportscenter said that 66% of teams that go 2-0 make the playoffs. I don't know how long of a time period they looked at.

Just a couple of cautionary examples:

2003 - Redskins started 2-0 and wound up 5-11.

And guess which team handed us our first of 11 losses that year?

The New York Giants in week 3.

We should rename this thread "jumping the gun." With injuries a big concern and a tough schedule down the stretch, I am trying extremely hard to just think one game at a time.

The important thing is that we aren't 0-2. Because the percentage of 0-2 teams that made the playoffs since 2000 is just 8%. Going back to 1978, that percentage climbs to about 11%.

The 66% of 2-0 teams making the playoffs is through 1978 (the start of the 16-game season).

One interesting stat is that this year is the first time in *NFL HISTORY* that five Playoff Teams from last year have started 0-2 (and therefore, statistically, only one of those teams is likely to make the playoffs again this year)
