Remember The Skins vs. The Raiders in the Super Bowl?Skinsfan1967 09-21-2007, 07:48 PM Man, you cats are old, huh? I have the honor of remembering all 5 Super Bowl appearances. Kilmer to Taylor, beautiful. 4mrusmc 09-21-2007, 07:58 PM trying to run a screen pass to Joe Washington. the skins used the same play during the season, to burn the raiders on a long gainer If I remember correctly, earlier in the year when we played the raiders, they were beating us pretty good in that game, but in the end the Skins pulled out a victory in dramatic fashion. redskinsfanatic 09-21-2007, 08:51 PM they came out on the 1st drive in the 3rd quarter, scored a td,and promptly missed the pat!the sqirek int td pass return pretty much killed them.my nephew met marcus allen a few years back in nyc..he told my nephew no matter where he goes in the usa, there is always a redskin fan to give him some shit over that run.not too many people remember this, but before norv turner resigned terry allen,he almost got marcus to don the burgundy and gold. dmek25 09-21-2007, 08:53 PM I have the honor of remembering all 5 Super Bowl appearances. Kilmer to Taylor, beautiful. NFC championship. right over the top, with a corner named Mark Washington covering. as they say, priceless redskinsfanatic 09-21-2007, 09:02 PM NFC championship. right over the top, with a corner named Mark Washington covering. as they say, priceless i can remember that superbowl too.what i remember more than anything from that season is the nfc championship win over staubach and the cowboys. charlie taylor beating charlie waters on the post, waters diving after taylor, and breaking his arm,and the over the hill gang making staubach run for his life all day at rfk. TampaDude 09-22-2007, 11:26 PM 38-9...GAG...I was in shock for a week...all the pain of that loss was erased in the second quarter of Super Bowl XXII, though... :food-smil SFREDSKIN 09-23-2007, 12:35 AM That was a painful loss, especially for me living in the Bay Area, first the 49ers almost came back to beat us in the playoffs despite our 21-0 lead into the 4th quarter. I think the team got cocky and over confident after having an unbelievable season and rolling over almost everyone, second I heard that Joey T. was out partying all night and was hungover ( I believe it by the way he played) The next week at the Pro-bowl he gets the MVP of the Pro-bowl game, he should of saved that game for the SB. Luxorreb 09-23-2007, 12:57 AM I was 11 or 12 years old and my parents left us at their friends house to watch it while they went out. I was so depressed to watch the game at some cold house I'd never been to before. The other kids in the house couldn't care less about the Superbowl! Man it sucked. And losing so huge. It still is a horrible memory for me... CHIEF CHUCKING MY SPEAR 09-23-2007, 01:31 AM if we won that game that skins team would have been considered one of the best ever Luxorreb 09-23-2007, 01:53 AM You are correct. We got killed that game though... |
