BDBohnzie 09-24-2007, 03:43 PM If it's a 1pm game, as soon as the final whistle blows, the remote is off and running to find the next game on. If it's a 4pm game, I'll flip around til 8pm, and watch FOX for the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. If I'm at the game, I get back to the car, break out a chair and have a beer.
I'm pissed off for about 30 seconds after a loss, then I calm down and move on. Can't change what happens, just have to deal and move on.
I don't do anything because I don't get all fired up after a loss.
It's a game, and it's a game that we as fans have ZERO control over.
I have a hard time getting annoyed over something I can't control. Am I disappointed initially? Sure. But I don't feel the need to punch walls or get drunk, or post like an idiot on the boards calling for everyone's head.
I pick up my 6-string, and cut loose with.............HIGHWAY TO HELL!

I get emotionally invested, I have to admit. So I get downright dejected after a loss like that yesterday. But I keep a cool head; I think going on the boards and flaming about it will only make me more upset/pissed. It's best if I just get away from all things Redskins for about 24 hours. I think about other things (talk to family, playing poker, etc.).
Porn also works WONDERS!
Schneed10 09-24-2007, 04:03 PM The hard part about being a fan is realizing that the team has ups and downs. We have a tendency to do things like look at the first two weeks and observe solid play by us, and crappy defense by the Giants, and logically conclude that we should kick the crap out of them and run up the score. Then when that doesn't happen, people get all f'd in the head.
Sometimes your team just has a bad day. Sometimes the other team just has a good day.
The best solace you can take is to resist that urge to go projecting the bad day you just saw onto the remaining 13 games. In other words, just because we played that way this time doesn't mean we'll play bad next game. You can analyze all you want, but sometimes teams step up and sometimes they take steps back.
Remember Oakland in 2005? Not long after we reeled off 5 straight wins to make the playoffs. You never know when your boys will bounce back, so stay cool, because chances are they will.
Schneed10 09-24-2007, 04:05 PM And another thing...
The line between winning and losing is SO fine in the NFL:
- Went to OT with Miami
- Eagles had a shot to tie in the last minute
- We had a shot to tie NY, first and goal with one minute to go
So when the sky is falling, remember that a few little changes could make the difference next time.
jbcjr14 09-24-2007, 04:11 PM I agree with Schneed here. There is a very fine line in the NFL between winning and losing. Gibbs also stated that every game would be a fight to the finish and be very close. We are not that good of a team in all phases RIGHT NOW. Will we be? Who knows, but the potential is certainly there.
Trust me, every team will lose a couple games. It happens in the NFL. This is not the end of the world and 2-1 sure as hell beats 0-3 which we sure as hell could be right now!
saden1 09-24-2007, 04:29 PM I hate losing...it makes coming into work very difficult. The more they win the harder I take a loss...this week being a bye week makes it even harder to not think about the loss.
Anywho, I try not watch sports shows or read about the loss and eventually after few days I look forward to the next game.
Southpaw 09-24-2007, 05:24 PM Like some others have said, if it's an hour after the game and I'm still pissed, I just tell myself that the Washington Redskins losing a football game really has no effect on my day to day life. That helps... a little bit.
I also stay away from this place at least until the next day. Seeing the knee jerk reactions of people(some of which, I actually respect their opinions) tends to get me riled up again.

Yeah, how do you think I feel? I can't avoid it at work. I've been calling "meetings" all day just to get away from all the NFL coverage today.
